Thread: How to spread awareness of my new shop?
I was wondering on how I could get people to come to my new shop? I'm working my way to Novice Merchant (abeit slowly), and I'd like customers to at least be aware that my shop even exists.
Make MACROS,
/yell You know you need a bucket of chicken, well you can find it at Billy's house of Chickem, located juet west of Coronet, just type /waypoint 3923, 2222 and follow the arrow.
Mark a few variations, and stand in populated areas, and once every 10 or so mins, hit one of the macros
Also, just post in your galaxy forums once in a while about your shop. List what you have, maybe even how much if not many others are selling what you're offering (if they are, you should probably keep your prices to yourself).
And if you make friends with some of the already well-known merchants, you may even be able to get co-advertising with them. I regularly advertise other businesses next door to my shop in my advertising emails. I figure it's the neighborly thing to do.
And don't get discouraged. It can take a while to get your business really going. It took me almost three weeks of steady playing now to get my business up to a level where I feel comfortable working my own hours. But I've got plenty of word-of-mouth advertising and I sell good stuff so I get a lot of repeat business.
Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll do great!
Plus advertising 3 will make your vendor listed in the global area and that will help.
Well hopefully.

Here is what I did:
1) Sell items on the bazaar. Try to keep your maximum of 25 items up at all times. Sell at reasonable prices focusing on whatever you sell in your shop.
2) After each bazaar sale send a "thank you" message (create a template by mailing yourself then forwarding that message) with what you sell, "special offers" and awaypoint.
3) Maintain a good stock in your store
4) People will come (provided you are in an easy to reach location).
This strategy has allowed me to be pretty successful as a merchant. Hope it helps,
