Once you hit Novice Merchant just keep putting new vendors out (1 for each new box until you reach 6) and you'll get 150xp hr/vendor. Make sure you go up the column all the way to the right first (I don't recall the skills) but this will give you 1 vendor per skill box unitl box 4 when you'll have 6. You can also put a 1 credit access fee on your house and get your friends to go in for an extra 50 xp per entry. The only problem with this approach is they can't be on the administrator or entry list for the house and the minimum time to allow access to the house if 15 minutes.

Do a search on this forum and you will find many such tricks as the ones mentioned above.
However, if you really wand many visitors to your vendor you will have to have a product to sell, and to sell it at cheep prices.
The easiest to get is resources, or artisan goods. Perhaps a shop pot side the town where all the newbie's start that sells CDEF weapons and artisan clothing, backpacks and vehicles...
Oh and if you wand to have lots of visitors to you vendor... then do not put up a access fee, many including my self refuse to enter a shop that have it.

the 1 credit entry fee isn't a big deal... if you go to a shop and it's got the 1 credit entry... you know it's because someone's working on merchant.
just try and not have someone pay that entry fee for nothing. if you advertise, make sure your shop has what you say it well. fair prices... and even dirt cheap prices to start with.
and take some interest in the look of your shop.
i'll help.

Go into the room with the vendors. You'll get the XP in a lump when next they get loaded by someone entering the room where they're located.

Yes, sometimes there is a small lag after the vendors actually load until you get the xp that's due you.
