There is an interesting trend on Flurry.

People will use the bazaar to gain galactic advertising.

This must be done with the help of a friend or an alt character.

1. Basically they place an item up for auction; for example an AV21 schematic, or a rare loot components.
2. On this item, they will place a note such as "e-mail <player name> your offer on this item"
3. Then their alt will place a 6000cr bid on the item.

Now the item will stay listed for 7 days for everyone to see. But nobody else can purchase it. Effectively getting galactic advertisement.

A simple fix would be to remove the auction option from the bazaar.

Has anyone else noticed this on other servers?

Yep, I've done this before as another means to advertising even though I am also Master Merchant. Some people swear buy it. I believe its easier to look at the planetary map for vendors, however, sometimes you don't really know if the vendor your looking at on the map has what you need. You may see a DE for instance on the planetary map but he/she may only specialize in combat droids or something. I used to place the kinds of droids I wanted to sell on the bazaar with a waypoint to my vendors.

I see it all the time.

A simpler solution would be to allow a maximum starting bid of 5999 and do an "instant sale" to the first bidder to hit 6000.

"Why the big secret? People are smart, they can handle it."
"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."

Elyssa was 1000% correct

I always put a plug for my vendor on any item I sell on the vendor so it wouldn't matter what the price is. Just cut and paste the blurb from your /notepad
