I'm not the most experienced player of SWG, but I have noticed something:
It appears that many dedicated "professionals", resent the fact that dabblers take advantage of their skill trees...doesn't matter the profession, they all have this gripe. Is it a legitimate gripe? Yes, at times--but the problem is, it doesn't seemlike the people we depend on to solve these problems, actually play the game.
I have a merchant...almost master in fact, but it's an alt, so I'm really not dedicated. I've seen a few posts here about how people were taking advantage of the vendor situation. What did you do? You ask that the devs do something about it.It seemed really simple, but you forgot SWG recent history. That history could've shown you how the devs can fix one problem, while destroying the very component that made the profession worth while. This history lesson I speak of?...Creature Handler...ouch.
Some of you probably hated, and still hate pets, many love them. Some used the old CH skill tree to achieve near master CH power with little CH investment, and thus the world was lousy with CH dabblers. "Help us devs, the proliferation of pets is destroying the Star Warsy feel, making some master combat/NCH templates too powerful, and giving us dedicated CH's a bad name....please fix this"...what happened? They fixed our tree so that dabblers would have to invest much more to achieve any real CH power, but....what power?...at the same time, they destroyed the creatures...never has the word "nerf" meant more than what happened to the CH profession, until maybe now.
Welcome to our club, we've been expecting you--please make room, others are sure to follow...
What lesson have we learned here? How can we prevent this from happening again?...wait, it hasn't really hapened to youyet...maybe you can stop it...good luck--but, btw, if history holds true, and the changes go live as they are now--the devs will not post to your forum for many, many months--if ever at all...you will be cast aside. You are now "FIXED"...enjoy!
