It is a constant pain not being sure which item it actually is one wants to sell, even with open inv at the side. Especially now with the new sorting function it is absolutely impossible to see which items are new.
We have to use our bags (mine is normally full) to deposit items inbetween if we really want to be sure if we for example sell a harv with 120k mass or only with 112k mass, which leads to a price difference (at least for my harvs). This is of course not the only item one could have with the same name and icon but with different stats in the inventory, just look at space loot ... (I hope you get what I mean)
So please: Why do we see the picture of the item in the sales window while we already see it smaller above when we desperately needed the stats instead?

I totally agree with this. It is very dificult to sell sliced items because the stats do not show up when you try to list them. Almost impossible to know what item your trying to sell without refering to that exact item in your inventory.

I agree! The window you get when selling things that are in the stockroom show even less attributes. For instance, for ship components it doesn't even show the certification level. I simply gave up using it and just retrieved all items from stockroom to my inventory and then put them for sale again.

You know you can scroll down that little window in the lower left corner of the sales window and see the stats there?

It doesn't show all the stats for some odd reason.
