I would like to see a change in which an SWGcharacter owning Vendors, Tents, Harvs, and/or Buildings could remotely view the maintenance, power, and resourcesituation (for harvs), maintainance (for Tents and Buildings), and maintenance anditemssituation (for Vendors).
This would apply to all players, not just Merchants (except other classes besides Merchants and Artisans would obviously have no Vendors to monitor).
Operations that common sense says could be done remotely, like selling items at a remote Vendor that have fallen into its Storeroom, should be doable using this new interface.
Other operations, like puttingmaintenance andpower in a harvester, or maintenance anditems in a Vendor, would have to be done by visiting that location.
I now have 18 vendors, 40 harvs, 2 tents, and 10 houses among my 6 Flurry characters. It is maddeninghaving to waste my scarce free time scrambling fromplanet to planet to monitor and/or service all these installations. The SWG universe would obviously have the communications technology to do most of this remotely.
Please /sign if you agree with this proposed change.
Thanks,
Amphiaraus

Great idea.
I would like to have an overview that shows maintenance/power of harvesters/factories/vendors and if they are still running.

Personally an email once a week to owner stateing:
{where X is amount and time}
Factory/Harvestor: such and such (loc) has Xmaint_Xpower
Structure: suchand such (loc) has Xmaint
Vendor: Such and such (loc) has Xmaint_#items{total for sell}
and would include what if any dmg on them.
This would apply to everyone (of course those without vendors would not get the vendor list)
But even better would be a radial on the bank terminal that opens a window for all of this info.
Then anyone could veiw anytime.
{would be nice to have automatic withdrawel for bills set up, pay maint straight from bank)

For Vendors you need not travel: There are the planet and galaxy filters!

I think everything you are asking for is already in the game.
You can already manage vendors remotly using the planet and galaxy filters. You can move stock to and from stockroom. Re-price items. Recieve and re-post offers. Although it would be nice to get the multiselect and re-post functionalty.
You can use droidswith maintance modules service up to 9 structures (cash only). So in effect, everything you are asking for is already in game.

Hmm, sounds like a great idea and perhaps make use of Data Terminals that are crafted by Architects.
I think implementing Data Terminals to serve this purpose would fit the bill and here'show I envision this would work:
The Data Terminal "Advanced"that looks like the Artisan Mission terminals (crafted at Architect Furniture 3) would inherently have the ability to register 10 stuctures and/or vendors for viewing.
The round looking Data Terminal "Tech" (crafted at Architect Furniture 4) would also have the inherent ability to register 10 structures/vendors, but have an optional component to add such as a Droid Data Storage Module and depending on the level of the module would determine how many vendors/strucures that can be registered with the terminal for example:
Tech Data Terminal with no module: 10 structures/vendors
with a Level 1 Data module: 20 structures/vendors
with a Level 2 Data module: 40 structures/vendors
with a Level 3 Data module: 70 structures/vendors
with a Level 4 Data module: 110 structures/vendors
with a Level 5 Data module: 125 structures/vendors
with a Level 6 Data module: 150 structures/vendors
You then drop your terminal in a structure, and may need to require it to be "initialized" to accept structures/vendors to be registered. When you go to your structure/vendor, you get the option in your radial menu to register it with any of your initialized terminals - kind of like "Assign Droid" for maintenance droids. The terminal would display all the structures/vendors that you've registered, it would look something like this:
Name | ItemType| Maintenance | Power | Planet
My Harvester | Mineral Mining Installation | 10,000| 9,000 | Naboo
My Vendor | Vendor| 20,000 | - | Naboo
My House| Medium Naboo House| 50,000| - | Naboo
Also, there should be an option on the terminal to add Administrators, so that only listed administrators could access this information, or perhaps any administrator listed on the structure in which the terminal resides in could access the info. What do you think?

Can you view the maintenance on those vendors remotely? That's what the original poster is proposing.

I have tried selling items froma remote vendor'sstoreroom, giving them some oddball price so I could find them in the vendor's sales section more easily, but each time I tried to do this for a remote vendor the item just disappeared.
Thanks,
