Howdy,..

I visited many shops around town an noticed all the nice things they set up to make it feel more, "shoppy".

Such as items sitting randomly on a table or chest, and things on the wall an whatnot. Even saw a pyramid o' containers, kinda nifty.

I try plac'in a jar on a toolchest an it falls to the floor, what gives? Alls I can do is move it foward or back, there's no up or down. : (

Any help? Thanks.

Until they allow us to place things on tables or walls using some sort of z-axis move, you have to use a workaround.

The only way to get things to be above groung level is to drop them on stairs on houses that have stairs. So basically you go to the stairs, and drop the item, then you can move it around using the move commands and it will stay at that elevation. It takes some getting used to to try and figure out say the height of a table versus the height you need to drop the item on the stairs at.

What this means is that houses with no stairs cannot have things above floor level. Also top floors of houses cannot have items above ground level since there would need to be another set of stairs going up from the top floor.

Hope this helps.

And if you dont have stairs....

There are a few things you still can do. Some drinks (Aitha, Spiced Tea, Breath of Heaven) dont drop on the floor, they will drop about waist high and can be place on top of chests and tables. Also some generic houses have a raised area that you "step over" in the doorways. You position yourself in the door and drop items, these will be a good height to slide them over to a coffee or end table. And lastly, youcandrop plants into end tables and coffee tables.Free standing lamps into a few items, desks, end tables, tables also look good.

We have also heard that they want to change this so that you can place things at different levels. The issue seems to be how to keep the items inside the house

Come on this one should be easy to figure out... UO solved this by simply not allowing the player to elevate an item more then a certain height above the floor the character was standing on... And UO did not have a real Z-axis (it was only cosmetic).
