All,

I just had a quick question because for the life of me can't honestly remember this effecting me, but just how long has there been the rule of if your vendor item does not sell and goes into the stockroom it is deleted after 7 days if not relisted? I could have sworn that I had items in my stockl room longer than 7 days before I had the chance to re-list them and never had a problem...well until last week. Now over 50 weapons on my vendor are gone and the CSR's say they can't be returned. Also If I place an item in the stockroom does such a rule apply?

I have not seen any patch notes on 3 days. It should still be 7 days and if they delete before then you need to put in for a bug and a ticket. Not all CSR's know everything about everything in the game. It is best to find when a good one is on and report it during their shift.

Thanks for the info guys. When I got the responce from the CSR they did mention the 7 days and read off some log notes or whatever. Thing that pissed me off the most is he pretty much tells me "it is what it is, so don't post anything about this ever again in a ticket and delete this right away" Ok..so now it's maranate there till the next thing breaks, which should be tomorrow with the release

It's not 7 days I know that for a fact on Saturday I spent hours making sure all my items were 100% restocked. I didn't play my merchant toon yesterday, and today - the items that went to stockroom yesterday - expired today. So I am not even getting 3 days more like 2 before my items expire.

We need a tracking device onitems on our vendors: it should say how many days before it goes to the storeroom.

Its not 7 days. I guarentee you its not. That might be what the CSRs say, but its either bugged or simply incorrect, as I had it happen to one item. It sat on there for no more than 3 days tops, and I play almost daily. I'll even throw a test up to find out, because if it is actually supposed to be 7 days, something is wrong. I now wish I would have saved the emails of the item loss with the dates.

Also, dont expect much apathy from a CSR. It's thier job to attempt to be cool and level headed when they really are given no way to appease customers. They have little to no power to change something on thier own, and it would take several reports of something for it to be seriously looked into. That is how any business functions, unfortunately. I give them credit above Devs, as they are at the forefront of pain when it comes to stressed out players looking for reason.

The reason things are a mess,is the Devs, their work schedule, thier bosses that decide certain issues take priority over others, or simply thier lack of work the first time around to get a code set correctly and with logic. Odds are, most of the rediculous and foolish decisions are made by suits that have little to no clue as to what is happening in thier game, they read things off reports and charts, and make decisions based on profit margins and overtime. A self indulgentbuttclown looking to line his pockets with the expenses they cut by costing yet another player just that much more fun. "How can we force the customer to pay more money?", doesnt always align with "What's best for our game?"

Of course, this is all just rectal speculation, and perhaps every single employee buying dinner off SOE tonight, is following that meal with a nice fat crack rock, a nightly ritual that day by day corodes the minds of these poor souls past the point of logic and reason...

Well, off to go restock yet another vendor, of only I knew which one...

You get 30 days on an item when its put up for sale. At the end, the item is transfered to the stockroom where it is held for what I thought was 3 days. Any item that sits in the stockroom for 3 days, will then be deleted from the vendor and from existence. You get a nice email telling you that in fact your items did get deleted based on the fact you werent able to baby sit your game every day. Its a rediculous and cheap system to help decrease the number of "dead" items, but the sale time is absurd for anyone really selling a variety of items, and the deletion time on the stockroom basicly says, "if you're not playing our game every single day of your life, we are going to punish you by deleting the things you spent all your time collecting." Its also nice that they didnt bother to outline where the items are listed when you get the emails saying the sale is complete. Not like they had an email notifying you where your sales take place or anything. Guess the coding for expired sales was too complex to fit that extra bit of info in. So if you figure out in time what vendor just dropped 100 items into it's stockroom, you'll have 3 days give or take to run out there and rehash all your sales.

I could be wrong, and the stockroom time may be longer, but considering I have to watch my vendors like a hawk, Im fairly sure the one item that deleted on me, was only off sale for about 3 days before it poofed. I have since hired a full staff to cover my game experience; each employee spends a good 3 hours a day guarding my vendor sales so that I know when things go off sale, and then I hire a detective to figure out which vendor actually dropped items. My detective says his rates will be increasing now that I will have up to 12 vendors I'll need to keep track off, as a larger area to cover of course meansmore time detecting which vendor actually dropped items. The hitmen I hired to take out SOE's dev's working on these systems has yet to report back. I fear due to this fact, and the latest "features" added to the Merchant profession, that their mission has been comprimised. Im considering contacting some of the more prominant BHs on my server to see if they would like to take a crack at the contract.

Im am thinking you are correct - its only like 3 days now that items stay in the stockroom. That is ridiculous! I recently sent a notice to a CSR and he responded telling me that it was 7 days, but the devs mustve changed something without informing them. 3 days feels about right. If you ask me it should be 8-9 days at least so that we can afford to only log on once a week. Some of us have REAL LIVES and cannot afford to babysit our vendors every single day! Please devs fix this!
