Thread: Who is still against this nerf?

Since I see a lot of people for this nerf, I ask: who is still against it? I know, I am still against this nerf regardless of the increased item limits. Vendors need unlimited storage. I sell powerups and could easily top the 4000 item limit. I am currently a Master Merchant, but it would be nice to be able to drop it and take up another profession, but now I have to keep Merchant because of the item limit. As for the deletion of the empty vendors, finally. But the devs need to fix other problems with vendors and make the overall userability better before they go around messing it up.

Er...just as info, the limits have been changed. A master merchant can now have 4k items, all on one vendor if he/she wishes.

More detailed info can be found here

I believe that the changes to merchant are one of the worst ideas yet. Might as well hang on tight because the economy is going to be a bit rough for a while.

I dont consider it a Nerf.

I'm all for these changes. 4k items is quite a lot to work with as a master merchant. Also, it will all me to use up to 12 vendors. I dont know what I will do with 12, but I know that 6 was limiting me.

Removing all empty vendors form the planetary map will benefit everyone in a Big way. Especially now that people will come to my vendors rather than the vendors of the SPAMers in coronet square.

Some changes in this merchant revamp is good and some are bad.

But i definately like the removing of empty vendors.

i'm already on a limited playing time and running around for 30min clicking empty empty vendors are just a big waste of time.

good riddance.

Not I. The only complaint I had with the originally suggested changes were the low limits - I was all for limiting vendors, but not so low that legitimate merchants couldn't do business. Now that they've listened to the community and corrected it, I'm all for it.

Bring it on! It's about time my Master Merchant box meant something other than "more vendors."

I would also like to drop professions and keep their abilites. Sadly that makes no sense.

It depends on how I'm affected by the unknown "features" that will pop up once the patch is up, but I can certainly live with the changes as they are written. 4000 items is an acceptable limit, at least for me, and I am happy that the limit was changed to an aggregate. I also like the idea of additional vendors, as it lets me diversify my stock a bit more. No more "All Melee Weapons" Vendors for me. As a non-merchant (my primary), I think its about time that empty vendors will be taken off the map. My server (Bria) is currently deluged with vendors from the hologrind that were chock with months worth of maintenance and simply left to clog up the Map. Not only that, but I can now travel to remote locations to get to a vendor that I know will at least have SOMETHING.

Should this be the extent of the Merchant updates? Hell no. The entire trade system needs to be completely overhauled from the ground up. Seperated completely from the Bazaar system, which is the true bottleneck for Merchants and Non-Merchants alike. But being that the Devs have a thousand and one other things on their plate at the moment (and more important ones than this, IMO), I won't be holding my breath on any significant changes to the underlying structure of the game's economy.

Perhaps you misunderstood me, I would like to drop Merchent entirely, still keeping Business III and VI in Artisan, and still have the ability to have unlimited items on my vendor.
