Thread: Vendors that have been left empty *OR* abandoned (untouched) for two weeks will be deleted

The title was from todays patch notes.
Am I reading this right? Sounds like if I leave a full vendor untouched for over 2 weeks it will be deleted. That doesn't sound reasonable since items stay listed for like a month. Why would I have to 'touch' my vendor before items start delisting and moving into the stockroom.

Hey Doc I remember reading somewhere you were going to try and get this bumped to 3 weeks? Any chances of that happening soon - asking because its not uncommon for people to take more than a 2 week vacation. Last thing merchants want to do is to restock - say 2000 items (no where to put them) to take a 2 week vacation - or worse yet - give a friend your login so that someone can play you and log in and go to each vendor at least once a week. I do understand the reason for the deletion for inactivity - just hopeful they might consider bumping it one week. Thanks for all your help with the limit etc.

Wow ... I missed the "or".
Let's see ... untouched, would mean not "visited" by a customer or merchant I would assume. As long as a 'touch' consists of the owner *or* a customer, then I am fine with this.
If it's "untouched" means just the merchant, then I would have a problem with this.

Two weeks untouched isn't reasonable IMO. Things happen--computers break down, ISPs go wonky, people get sick, vacations, work and exams can take up large chunks of time when a game is the furthest from someone's mind. Heck, there's even hurricanes--I've had friends be out of power for a week or two at a time from weather. I knew one guy in the Phillipines who was out for a month or more! Not all of those people will be able to have someone log in on their behalf, either--and since you're not supposed to share accounts, I doubt we can even consider that an "official" solution.
I understand the need to keep things clean and tidy, but two weeks seems a bit short. I'd hate to see someone lose weeks, months, or millions of creds of work and inventory because they got sick or had a technical faliure. :/

On Sept 15th, I have a second annual training to go to. My last one was for 17 days. See where I'm going with this???? Am I going to be completely screwed? Am I about to lose multi millions in clothing and armor??

I just got back from military training (10day course) and lost 123 seperate items, many were 50K stacks of resources.
SOE truly believes that all gamers will sacrifice thier real lives so as not to jeapordize their game merchants...

yay for poofed empty vendorzzzzz!!!11 all you peoples who have crappy vendorrzz dunt have them anymore
