I hate to pick nits, what with everyone trying to vent one last time about the vendor nerf, but I noticed something really odd tonight...lamps that are for sale on one of my vendors seem to be decaying. I.E. the "lifespan" is not what it was when crafted.

Yes, it could have been an issue of a few too many shots of Bailey's some weekend night when I crafted them and named the schematic with the lifespan in the name, but as proof (no pun intended) crates with the same serial number are now reporting different lifespans. I /bugged it. Can anyone else check to see if it's happening elsewhere? Or is this an old issue?

It's a bit of a joke amongst my customers that "lifespan" means that's how long you have to decide where you really want it placed, but how long it can live on a vendor isn't part of the equation!!!

BTW: Funny how the word "nerf" doesn't seem to be a valid word in the message board spell-checker.

"Which did you like better? 'Jedi' or "The Empire Strikes Back?"
"Jedi"
"Blasphemy!"
"'Empire' had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, find out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All 'Jedi' had was a bunch of Muppets." -Thanks go out to BrainMandinga for the AWSOME sig!

I checked the crated lights on my vendor and don't see them losing any lifespan. (If you check details, you will get a lifespan down to the second...just keep checking, but I'm seeing no changes at all.) However, I think crates of lights left in the factory hopper are still decaying (an old bug). I forgot about this bug and left a crate of lights in my hopper for about two weeks, and sure enough, that crate has a lot less lifespan than those I removed promptly from the factory. Could this be the problem?

This is an old bug that was introduced with Publish 7. I myself made numerous bug reports and others did too. The problem is with crates. A crate of lamps or candles has 10 items, whensuch acrate is created only the first item (the first itemisthe last item that is pulled from the crate) gets created inSWG's itemdatabase - the other 9 items will be crated on the spot when you pull the item from the crate. When the first item is created it will immidiatly start to decay no matter where you put the crate - in the factory, on your vendor, in your inventory, in your bank or in your house. It will only stop decaying when you pull it from the crate. When you have a crate that shows lifespan = 0 the first 9 items will still be ok, only the last item will effectivly have a lifespan of 0.

If in fact individual candles or lamps start decaying on the vendor -that would be a new bug.

Please offer all my auction winnings to my vendor at xxxx xxxx (TBA)

After 2 seperate emails from customers saying my lamps were burned out, I went to the wendor and pulled a couple off. All were dead. I had to destroy about 70 lights in all. Candles and lamps. Dont know why, and am too tired of these kind of bugs to try and track it down. All I know is they have been relisted twice. I wasnt sad to see them go. They've been clogging things up for a long time. But it still sucks. BTW, this happened a few days ago, before the Patch.

Yup that appears to be what has happened. Doing the math (factory time for each crate) I can see crates that would be "decayed" nearly to the second from each other, accounting for the time they sat in the factory while it was running.
