Thread: Resource Merchants... a question...
Has anyone noticed a drop in sales since the 30k resource kits came out? I run a vendor that gets pretty good business, but suddenly I've had a drop off in customer activity. Is this a product of the resource kits, or am I crazy?

That's kind of what I would expect.

I haven't experienced a drop in sales either. 30K resources are nice for some uber project, but most people won't use it for grinding andsub-component creation.
I chew through 30k of resources in no time.

Good points all, but I neglected to mention one thing...
My main resource vendor is primarily a meat vendor. 30k is a drop in the bucket when it comes to non-organic needs, but 30k is a lot when it comes to meat or other hunted resources.
Just a thought.
I sell both mined and organics--my other character is a Master Ranger--and you're right, 30k of an organic is a very different thing than 30k of something mined. (Yet I still get people wanting to buy "grind hide at 1 cpu" or "top quality meat at 5 cpu.") But--depending on what it's being used for, that 30k can still go fast. It might not even be one factory run. It's more a dollop than a drop.

Yeah, that's the problem... None of the docs are going to be buying Avian meat for years... And I wouldn't even expect many of them to be buying high quality herb meat, as there was such a glut of it in the last couple of months.
Our chefs do still seem to be buying creature resources though... But I think the armorsmiths are in the same situation as the docs -- there are a ton of resource kits out there.
As for other resources, I've noticed a definite upturn in high-end sales -- the resource kits seem to have caused more people to try crafting for personal use, or even to start businesses, and so I'm seeing quite a bit of interest in Doc and Chef staple resources.
