Merchant Archive

The current Ad branch does very little to allow Merchants to advertise their goods. Merchants, by our very nature, sell a great many things, but unless you are willing to put multiple vendors in a single location, you can only choose to advertise one type of item on the planetary map.

Not very good, or efficient. I have grand plans for my 6 vendors and wedging them all into one house is only a temporary situation until our profession is fixed.

Suggestion: AMerchants tab on the bazaar. For a fee we can advertise on this tab. Give us enough room to actually describe our goods and services and put the coordinates to our shop(s) on the ad. A way to show all the things we sell needs to be implemented, perhaps on the tab listing of item types on the bazaar and vendors....don't know how that would work, however. I'm just an idea man. Maybe by hightlighting what we say we sell?

The upside. A marked decrease in the number of items being auctioned on the bazaar for 3000 credits simply to advertise.Any reduction in database crowding would have to help, wouldn't it? This is real advertising, a sort of yellow pages. Everyone knows how to use the bazaar, so we wouldn't lose time educating the masses.

Anyone else?

The other suggestion I have made was to place the plant ad on the HOUSE not the vendor. Allow us to select 3 or 4 headings. This is good for 3 reasons:

1. When using the Ctrl-M map you can read the shop name


2. We do not have to use all our vendors to "section off" our goods


3. We only have to reset one thing a dat, not 3 or 4.

I'd still have to reset 4 things a day, because I have 4 shops
