Posted this on the SWG Discussion board where I found the sticky thread by CSRPatrickM. Thought it appropriate to repost here.

Recently we havehad many players report putting items in bags, storing them on a vendor and then losing the items inside. Using vendors as storage space for extra items inside of bags was not intended so please refrain from doing this as you will lose whatis put inside of the bag.

I don't think many people are using it as simple storage. Most merchants, including myself, use the bags to keep special orders together. Without being able to place a bag with a full order in it, we basically lose the ability to make custom orders for people. It is hard to get together at the same time a lot of the time, and this was the easiest way to deal with the problem. By not allowing us to sell items in packs on the vendors, many merchants lose a lot of business.

Yes, we CAN place things on the vendor individually, but then there is the issue of other people grabbing up the special order. That is not very convenient for our customers and not a very good business practice in my opinion. Maybe there is another way for the devs to deal with this issue in the future by adding the feature to put custom orders on the vendors without worry that someone else might grab it. In the meantime, I think we should get this ability back until an alternative solution is created.

FFUUUUAAAAAA

I just lost over 200k in items. I have over 100 items offered to my vendor every day. I have my suppliers offer items in bags to save me loads of time. This has NEVER been an issue.
Today I lost all my items.

I'm never one to flame a CSR, but that comment is complete nonsense.

"Don't do something that the system allows you to do since it doesn't work. We don't want to hear it."

There a dozens of reasons to sell items in bags. I've had a customer lose out this way twice (it worked on the bazaar) and luckily, he was very cool about it and waited for a CSR to reimburse him (they did, after a week).

Like many of you, I'm sure, I work in software development. I can't get away with telling users "Oh, don't complain to me if the bug catches you. We didn't mean to allow you to do that. Don't even call the Help Desk. We've instructed them to hang up on you."

If it's not intended, prevent it from happening. If it should be allowed, fix it. If they prevent it, they'd better have a damned good explanation for why, since it's such a great tool for us to use.

I had my ticket removed without an email saying why. My PA lost a whole pack of deeds when I needed a touch more storage space durring our big relocation from BF no-where to somewhere sensible.

They're treating us like we're some kind of criminals who were purposely trying exploit the system. Well, I hate to brake it to you SOE, but I wouldn't have lost my bacg of items if the items/lot limit weren't set so low. All I needed was another 30 spaces for half an hour....

Oh, and thanks for the big freaking patch note update on this OBVIOUS NERF. It's an intential nerf and we know it, because it wasn't an issue until the other day. Hello, we're not stupid!

I've run into this, and tried to be calm and rational. I simply set the (now empty) bag in my house and wen't about my business. Knowing that items dissapearing after bought from vendors almost always re-appear the next day (after the server reset, or some night-elves sprinkle pixie dust in the database), I went back to examine the bag the next day, and all the items were inside.

Yep, pull the bag, put it in the house (if you have the space lol), after server reset the items reappear.

Oh ya SOE jerky CSR comments should be grounds for employee reassignment.
