Thread: Sign Colors No Longer Working??
It seems that people who immediately created a sign without editing their 'house name' text (which just said "Sign" after the patch) were able to retain their original sign text, along with color and punctuation.
I, on the other hand, went and edited the 'house name' text first, and was shocked to discover that the color codes (i.e. \#FF00FF\) are no longer accepted, nor is almost any punctuation (i.e. : / = | ! ). And last but not least, the language filter from the vendor naming process appears to be used for houses now too, since I can't use the word "master" in my sign (I'm a master tailor).
I sure hope this is a mistake, because it's really sad to remove color from house signs. If anyone has had this same experience, or knows any way around it, please chime in. If you haven't edited your sign text yet, don't do it!

My sign name changed the same, but I have been told that if I change it, I most likely won't be able to set it back. It says right now "Tempest General Store: Lok Branch" and apparently the word General, and : are not allowed in house names anymore, which is really quite stupid.
The guidelines that they use to control profanity or vendor names are just stupid. I tried creating a vendor the other day with the word "Architecture" in it, and it said it was invalid, and to choose something less obscene. Go figure.
I can understand them blocking the colours, as I imagine it was not intended for signs to be colourable (though items can still be created with colour names, which defeats it a bit). The other words and puncuation are a tad silly. I used to have my shops website URL in the sign, but now I can't because of the puncuation block. All they needed to add was \ to the filter to stop the colours... the rest is harmless.
It'd be nice to see sign colours added as a proper feature though.
