Thread: Invisible Items on Your Vendors Workaround
Heya all,
A couple of days ago, all the items on my vendors vanished. As expected, I just about had a heart attack, that is, until I began getting the emails that items were being purchased. Turns out I had the bug where you can't see any items on your vendors, but everyone else can. For a few days this went on, where I would put items up for sale, but not be able to see them, withdraw them, or even check my own stock levels, but people would continue to buy from me.
Then, for no particular reason, instead of clicking "Show All" on my vendor, I clicked on the Item Tab. Voila! Everything appeared. When I closed it out and hit Show All, everything was showing. I then went around to my other four vendors, repeated the process, and it worked on all of them.
Maybe you all are already aware of this workaround, but I figured I would post it here, in the chance that it would be helpful to someone.

Are you telling us that it was stuck looking at the Stockroom or Offers screen the whole time and not the for sale screen? Is that the trick?
Trying to get exactly what it seemed to be.. and hoping others who who are having this error can try this and tell me if they see the same thing.

I don't think that is it Doc. I think the problem was that it was not listing all the items under the Show All tab, but once Idouble-clicked on one of the corresponding folders for the items (i.e. Resource Containers for stacks of Steel), everything would magically re-appear, whether it was in that folder or not.
I have been also trying to replicate how I managed to have all the items disappear in the first place. The only thing I can think of out of the ordinary was that I opened my crafting tool (to double-check how many resources something used, in order to price it) while I had the Sell Item window up. I will try this again and see if it repeats it.

Ok.I missed what you were saying. You are saying it was on show all but it wasn't showing everything. You clicked on a category and your items showed up. And now it works on show all again?

Yes, I think that's what he's saying.
I had the same or similar problem while we were having that big problem with items disappearing after 14 days.
My vendors all only showed between 5 and 10 items even though I had previously had hundreds of items on each vendor. But I was getting mails saying people were purchasing items I could not see on the vendors.
AND when I placed items on my vendors, they would not show up.
Even when I clicked All Items.
I don't think I ever figured out what was wrong, it just seemed to start working again. Perhaps I did click a category instead of All and things started to appear.
Unfortunately, after a week or two of this, I removed a few of the vendors which probably each still had hundreds of items for sale on them.
I also closed up my shop(s) on Tarq and deleted most of my stuff to join other players on Chimera when it went live - I didn't have much to lose at that point........
When you remove a vendor, it should tell you that "Yes, there are STILL items on this vendor, are you sure" not "IF any items remain on this vendor they will be destroyed".
They can check that and tell us there actually ARE items present before we trash everything.
