I think players with high merchant skills, possibly Master Merchant, should be able to putvendors in starter cities, but only one vendor in one starter city per player. In Mos Eisley or Mos Espa, for instance, they could place a vendor under one of those vendor/tent stands, like we see in the movies. In Coronet and other cities, the dev's could open some of those unused buildings and put rooms and floors in with an elevator. Possibly make vendor areas in less used portions of cities to disperse players from congregating 'just' in front of a starport or cantina.

With all the player cities sprouting up and vendors being placed all overthe galaxy, a centralized shopping/advertising system needs to develop for these private vendors.

If a merchant has high advertising skill, then he can list the itemsin his vendors on the Bazaar terminals. This would be under a separate tab on the bazaar, the private vendor tab. Once he has the proper skill level, he would have an option on his vendor to list the items on the bazaar terminal for a fee.

So, if someone was looking for a scout blaster, for instance, instead of roaming all over the known galaxy, stopping in at every vendor he chances apon, he could gotoabazaar terminal and click the private vendor tab. Then goto ranged weapons and see everypistol that is listed by these merchants. It could be broken down to region, planet, and galaxy searches.

This offers buyers a 'shop online' option. You goto your closest bazaar terminal, look thru the private vendor tab, find the item you want, pay for it there, then you get a waypoint to the vendor location. So, the payment is made at the Bazaar terminal and deposited with the merchant, but the item is still at the vendor location and must be picked up. People still have to visit the vendor to get their stuff but don't have to run around trying to find it in the first place.

High level merchants won't have to resort to placing dummy items on the normal Bazaar terminal with directions to their shops, because their items will be for sale on the Bazaar, under the private vendor tab.

In the real world we have tv commercials, newspapers, billboards and magazines to tell consumers what products we have to offer and where to get them. I think we need a new Tab on the datapad called Local Vendors. With the proper merchant skill, you can list your shop waypoint there, and if someone clicks on the icon a brief description of what you sell appears in the left pane in the datapad, which the vendor has written.

This would replace the world map listing and reduce the clutter on that map, while at the same time giving more information about a particular vendor.

I think these would be great perks for high level merchants.
