Ok..lets try this:

1. Create a vendor. (Leave it in your inventory)

2. Log out to the login screen then log back in

3. Place the vendor

4. Initialize

5. Check to make sure it is initiailzed

6. Pay Maintenance

Try that and let me know if it works or not. Please report the exact error message you are getting.

also at MASTER merchant you can only have 6 vendors , if you have no merchant that leaves you with 1 vendor

LOL, I thought that might sound confusing....

I placed 47 seperate vendors (1 at a time of course)... all of them stated they were successfully initialized.

Then tried logging out per a idea from a friend.

Then I tried about 25 more... Man does that suck the life out of ya, when none of them work.

I will try your idea tonight about logging out with the vendor still in my inventory.

...any other ideas?

Ok, slow down there Tex.

Create one vendor. Leave it in your inventory. Log out for 15 mins. Log back in. Place the vendor. Initialize the vendor. Drop in some maintenance.

Then wait a little bit. Say 30 seconds. Now try to access the vendor.

If it doesn't work on the first or second try. Just leave it and come back later. There may be some database lags. But trying to do this over and over agian is not going to help.

I've had the log out while the vendor was in your inventory work with a number of people. There is no guarantee. There are a whole list of near voodoo things to try in a post called "Terminal Vendor Workaround" here in the forum. This is one of the less complicated ones

It's a pain, but if you get tired of waiting for that magic initialization, put a 1 credit entry fee on your house and get your friends to come in, pay people to enter, etc. Once you get the 5k? necessary to get novice merchant, get random NPC's... they have no trouble initializing at all.

What that refers to is that if you click on intialize and then quickly click on the options again the menu hasn't refreshed yet and the initialize option is still there. It doesn't stay there very long a couple of seconds at best.
