Hello!!
First holo said Master Merchant, which is actually fine because I was thinking it'd be a really neat profession to pursue anyway... so that solidified it... and now... I'm not asking how to "grind merchant".
I actually plan on putting thought and effort into it!
My question is this: I recently picked up Novice Merchant, and would like to replace my ugly "refrigerator-like" vendor with a nicer one. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this... but I'm hoping against hope here. Do I have to EMPTY the current vendor in order to place the new one, then re-stock it? Or else I'll lose everything in the currentvendor right? Like I said... I believe thats how it works... just wondering if there is a way to work around it... because if that's the case I have NO idea how you seasoned vendors did it when YOU were starting out!
Oh and one more thing... someone here mentioned he heard that just HAVING a few vendors placed in a tent got you X exp per hour? is this true? I thought you only got xp from entry fees, people bringing up the vendor, and sales? Can someone provide me with a LIST of EVERYTHING that will get us xp? Does one thing make MORE xp than the other??
Lotsa questions... hope I can find some answers here.

Yea everytime you want to make a change you have to unload the thing and reload it. It is easier to unload it and put it directly back on the new vendor if you have the slots to have both vendors operating at the same time for a while. This saves having to have enough inventory space to unload the first vendor completely before you start putting the new stuff on.

It would be great, however, to havea "transfer stock" function on a given vendor.
Working with selected items...
Relevant uses :
- Splitting vendors - Very relevant now that max items will soon be capped - New specialized vendors taking over part of the stock of current vendors
- Upgrading vendors ( move stock to new and improved vendor )
- Moving vendors ( Place new vendor where you want to move to, transfer stock )
(:

From Draznar's Merchant Guide which is posted on this forum and stickied to the top of the forum, you find this information at the beginning of the guide:
- 150 XP per hour per vendor [Received in lumps whne vender Exists*] (Can place first at Bus 3)
- 50 XP per view of vendors by person [Must click refresh or a category. Veiwing multiple vendors does not increase] (Can get every 10 minutes)
- 50 XP per visitor per house for Entry Fee [Can be on multiple houses that you own] (Can place at house terminal at Bus 1)
- NO XP for purchases/bazaar ... none ... zip ... nada
- Suggestion: Go up management first to get per vendor xp. Then Adv 3 for planetary map.
- *Just like harvesters, vendors only exist when a player can see it. When there are no players arround the vendor drops from the servers memory. When another player comes into the house the vendor will load again, experience over time will be updated, and the vendor will "exist" till it unloads again.
In respect to your question about replacing your vendor, it cannot be done - only way is to empty your current vendor and sell it on your new vendor... That goes for renaming a vendor too.
