Thread: News Flash ... Merchants/Crafters Strike over Income Tax Hikes
Greets ...
/note: Cross Posting in multiple forums
The Devs seem to be the most responsive when the *most* fuss is made from the most people.
I think that it is possible to virtually bring the economy to it's knees but it would take organization and dedication.
I purpose, if the vendor maintenance fees are added to the game in the manner described that we all stop *selling* stuff for 3 days.
If every Merchant, Arch and Weaponsmith went on a 3 day strike and did not sell anything, and told customers why, there would be such outpouring of rage that these forums would literally crash.
They would get hit from the sellers side ... PLUS hit from all the players that would buy stuff, that can't cause we won't sell and sell to them.
I know this sounds harsh, but the reality is that these 3 profession control the economy in the game and we have the power if only we wish to exercise it.
Please respond if you would be willing to do this for 3 days.
Hero out
My mining business and my weaponsmith business have been closed down due to the vendor stupidity and the simple fact that absolutely NOTHING in the merchant profession actually works for a couple of weeks, now.
In fact, if you walk past my house (which USED to be my store), you'll hear my gaggle of venders bitching and complaining about idiotic design decisions and inept programing by SOE.
Well, at least you'll hear that if you wander by within a few minutes of me resetting the vendor-barking, because it usually stops working pretty quickly. <sigh>
Personally, I'm just waiting for my currentsubscription to run out to see if they ever actually fix anything, instead of just breaking more and more stuff. The way things are going, though, there's no **edit**ing way I'm renewing this **edit**.
I dont want anyone to place large items in there shop or vendor to crash the database....thats just not a nice way to play...All we can do is post and wait for the DEV to see the light...
I would not quit over this...but I have quit being a merchant till the swing the nerf bat...no need in spending timeor money doing something the PTB dont want us to do...
When nobody has a vendor and the nerf bat has be aimed somewhere else...I think they will see the result..which is very few vendors...which...is truly what they want...so I will go be a BH and they get me out of bussiness/Database....No HUGE tax/Fee has ever worked...
Take a Bridge...I charge 1.00 to cross lots of cars cross using the bridge...
I charge 100.00 to cross and someone builds a brige next to mine or buys a ferry and charges 50.00 to cross...
This is ECON 101...and if anyone can see this its the DEV...so ask why they want this fee to be placed this way...based on time and value of items
Simple...
Based on time/value so you dont list items for large sums and dont list lots of items because they will not sell fast...so you list fewer items for less to save cash...this does two things
1. Reduces you items listed
2. Reduces the prices that you list items on your vendor
Would this reduce cash...maybe ...or maybe not
Will this reduce vendors - yes
Will this reduce items on vendors - yes
So if we will work around it...u know we will...or go broke..then the only result is fewer vendors and items
Draw you own reasons...behind they why they would want this result...
