Thread: Problem: Not getting all the xp I should get
This is odd, I am not getting all the xp I should be getting from my vendors. I'm currently 0-0-2-2 as merchant and I have 4 vendors, all real NPC vendors loaded with inventory in 4 different buildings on 3 planets (2 of them are about 130m apart). There is maintenance on all of them and the maint rate is 1 (I do not have any efficiency skills yet).
- First, I really do not seem to get 600 merchant xp per hour (150 x 4). Do I have to be online to get this xp or is it round the clock?
- Second, I just set a new vendor in a player cantina. The building owner is a merchant too and has a vendor in there. I obviously have admin rights but when people browse that vendor, I do not get my 50 xp... something's wrong.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on here? Thank you

What's happening is that the transmission of merchant experience, as you will soon discover, is not reliable. Oftentimes, your accumulated merchant experience will not actually transfer to you for several hours, while other times, it's as regular asa Metamucil user. It'll be along eventually.

when i logged out at 1:00AM EST i had 29100
three vendors later
and at 6:30AM EST 29450
I dont think this is normal
Can anyone confirm...
- Do we have to be online to get merchant xp? I went afk at 02:51am and logged back (I was logged off at server reset) at 10:30am. I have 4 vendors (600 xp per hour) and only got 2400 xp instead of at least 4200 xp.
- Do I have to own the house to get merchant xp? 3 of my four vendors are in houses I do not own and my friend (who owns 2 of these houses) isn't even a merchant, never had a vendor in her life, now has 4900 merchant xp. Is this by design or should I file it as a bug? How am I supposed to harvest the resources I sell in my business if I have to waste all my lots on housing? Merchant xp should go to the vendor owner. Period.
- Does merchant xp truly catch up? It is very hard to track but it truly seems like I'm not getting all I should, I am several 1000s short and it doesn't seem to catch up.

Period. You should get experience from the vendors, but you will not get entry fee experience, which is probably what she is getting.

OK, my friend was in her house... with my vendor... she looked at her merchant xp (even though she's not supposed to have any), than browsed my vendor... looked again, and she gained 50 xp for that browse... I am getting robbed here. We need to take this to the devs ASAP before the next publish.
Ifmerchants cannot keep their own xp, then the multi-merchant mall concept for anything less than master Merchant is a scary thought. This is our nly way to get xp after all.
