Thread: Name Draznar's Power Company
My PA is moving... Not sure where, but I have put in that it needs to be a Player City with a Shuttle. I will be moving most of my store to this new location, though I plan to have a few other locations. My bigest business is power... I have been trying to emphasis that as much as possible. Since I will be mainly based in a new loaction I want to take the time and maybe jazz up my name. I am looking for your suggestions?
Also what do you think should be my other locations? I want to have a few locations... Please give me the list by Priority on the locations...
The whole idea behind a name of a store should be :
a. to tell you what the store is selling, and
b. for egotistical reasons to tell you who owns the store.
A clever entrepreneur would then switch the order of a + b around to be a bit more subtle.
In your case then the ideal name for your business would be something like........
DRAZNAR'S POWER COMPANY
hope this proves helpful, good luck with the venture.

I think I heard that some where... ![]()
Sorry, just couldn't resist it![]()
how about 'Resources R Us', or maybe 'I've got the Power!'
Drazner's Power Company - Power is our middle name
Power IS Drazner's
Drazner's IS Power
Power Now
Drazner's - Our Name Means POWER
Power to the People
Power IS Power
Drazner's IS Drazner's
The power, the whole power, and nothing but the power
[Sorry. Ever have a really slow day at work?]
Okay....I'm devoting synaptic pathways to the name as we speak....
In the meantime, I'll give you my thoughts on locations. Player cities might fundamentally alter the marketing landscape of SWG.I might consider opening a shop in a very high-profile, well-promoted, neutralplayer city. Otherwise, here are my suggestiosns. (Kinda funny how these follow the locations in my sig, huh?)
Coronet - This must be thy first choice! As much as I try to train my customers that Tatooine is my 'home location' and I keep itmes stocked there that aren't anywhere else, the Coronet store is 60% of my business. Get a spot south of the starport, with frontage on the no-build zone if possible. Coronet is surrounded on the West, North, and East by rivers and broken terrain, but the terrain to the south is flat. The starport gate is on the southside too. Plus, if Eclipse is anything like Scylla, Coronet's starport plaza is the traffic hub of the server. The Coronet vendor will draw business from all of Coronet, as well as the outlying adventure planets.
If a very high-profile, well-promoted, neutralplayer city popped up on Corellia, I might consider opening a vendor there too. Otherwise, the Coronet vendor will draw business from all of Coronet, as well as Talus andthe outlying adventure planets.
Theed - This is a distant second to Coronet. (The server just doesn't need two social hubs, I guess.) Don't make customers swim the river or climb down that cliff to the north. There is a spot south of Theed - again, with frontage on the no-build zone - where the direct lines from both the starport bridge and the palace bridge intersect. For the Theed market, that's the spot to die for! Theed will draw business from all of Naboo and Rori.
Moenia - This is my slowest location - I really only have it because I had a 6th vendor and no better place to put one. I could close this down and let all the business go to Theed and be perfectly happy. If you go to Moenia, grab a spot with no-build frontage directly north of the starport. Moenia is surrounded on the other three sides by swamps.
Tatooine - Tat's a trickier choice, because the traffic hub for the planet (Bestine-Anchorhead) is so factionally-charged. I know you're already well-established in this location, Draz, but I had trouble there with mine fields and factional bases blocking half my customer base. And too choose one of thee cities over the other I'm afraid would discourage half my customer base anyway. So my suggestion is Mos Espa or Mos Eisley. In my case, I've gone with the "high profile, well-promoted" player city.
For other locations, my advice is to go where the harvesters go. So you have to ask yourself where the harvies are on the outyling planets, or, what's getting harvested the most out there. The answer that came to my mind was Dantooine berries and Lokian wild wheat. My Dantooine vendor has been at the Imp outpost, but I'm looking for a go-getter player city to move to. Dantooine has been a fantastic power seller for me. Lok, on the other hand, has been disappointing, but that may be because I've gotten co-op stores closed down around me twice, so I've failed to establish a real presence there.
Doh! Did I write all that! Sorry, Draz, sugar....you know how I get... /blush
Depending on what city you move to...
<insert city name here> POWER AND LIGHT
