Thread: Idea: Merchants hall, a PC city building.
The owner could then place "vendor spots" along with all the decorations, these "vendor spots" could be created on the building terminal just like normal vendors, the choices would depent on the owners merchant skills.
When a "vendor spot" is created and placed, it could be turned (and given a uniform in case of npcs) just like a normal vendor. Before it was initialised the owner of the building could set access to functions like add-barking, re-uniforming, and re-naming as well and set the "vendor spot" rentel fee.
The "vendor spot" rental fee would be an added cost to running the vendor that the owner of the building would get.
When a "spot vendor" was initialised, it could no longer be changed by the owner. Except if it was to be deleted. It would however be possible for any one with a unused vendor to rent the vendor spot.
Vendor spots would not give XP to the building owner.
When renting a "vendor spot", you would pay the normal maintains plus the hourly rental fee, and then it would be just like owning your own vendor. Any sales tax would still have to be played.
The owner of the Merchants hall could also place a public bazaar terminal in the hall. It would function exactly like the bazaar in NPC cities, except that the owner would get the bazaar fee.
This would allow merchant to get a vendor in a PC town with out using a lot for a tent, and it would make it possible for town to gather vendors in one spot, with out everyone having to be set to admin in a building.

awesome idea....however, the devs'll never go for it, unless perhaps we can get doc to pass this along?
You over estimate my influence. I will of course pass this idea along if enough people like the it. I think as written it is probably too complex to expect it to be developed though.
I do like the idea of being able to charge people rent for a "station" in a strucutre. Currently you have to make such arrangements with a handshake and no enforcement and they never pay you (I've done it..they dont' pay..
)
I also like the idea of one big room inside the structure that you can decorate the way you like.
Perhaps it could be a called a "Market Place" building. This also requires additional art assets which is a time consuming issue.
Ban the suckers from the structure. :-)

Yea I know but then you just have empty vendors
And I am too blasted lazy to keep up with it anyways.
