Thread: Bazaar Item Limit
thats stupid
essentially a master merchant can have 48,000 items total on 12 vendors ( 12 x 4,000 item limit ) but can only list 25 items on the bazaar...

uh NO
4,000 TOTAL, period, no matter how many vendors..4k is the MAX
Correct. The item limit is global, not per vendor.

4,000 is still low lol. I have to have 2 master merchant alts to sell things i craft. Mater artisan items, master architect items, master weaponsmith items, resources, power ups, etc..........
Limit is a good thing, but 4k for master is kind of low in my book.
Actually, I have seen some very good arguments for why some sellers would have trouble with the item limt.
Unfortunately these cases are the minority and I don't expect the devs to make a change.
However, one of the items on the 'top issues' list strives to find a solution to this while at the same time not giving what is essentially unlimited storage to players.

Only area where 4k is a problem is if you were selling more than that daily. Limit your manufacturingofcrafted goods.
As a master architect you can make a good bit of your 4k item limit go poof very quickly. Since they are sold in singles and cant crate harvesters and factories for a "good" architect to have a successful business they need multiple items for large and small sales. My architect carries upwards of 2500 items for his business. And yes i sell many during the week. Master Weaponsmith again can sell multi thousands of items. Crates/singles, ranged, melee, grenades, heavy weapons. Again this can add up on the 4k limit.
On top of that artisan good take another huge chunk out of the 4k limit. Speeders, power-up for different types ( accuracy, speed, ac, dam, etc) and for melee and ranged. Repair tools, crafting tools, all other artisan items add to this count.
Who wants to be stuck crafting every day? I like to make things in bulk and then relax and use my alt to go guild hunting/xp'ing. And i really hate doing custom orders so i like to have multiple items and many of them on my vendors.
Then resources come into play. For selling them and for spare resources i use for crafting. Majority of my resources are in homes, i still put a little of each main resources on my vendor in my crafting house.
4k itme limit is nothing to a dedicated crafter and to someone who has multiple crafting professions. Plain and simple. I stock and supply an entire mall, or use to. havent donemuch since CU for crafting. But when i get back into it i make a lot and a large variety of everything. Just as a good crafter should.
Many people argue that you shouldn't be everything at once - that you should't try to be an artisan, architect, and weaponsmith simultaneously. I, however, think that if you've spent the sp to gain skills in those professions (including master merchant), and have taken the time to craft a bunch of stuff, that you should be able to sell it.
Some people say that being able to create a large shop hurts the in-game economy, essentially shutting down startup stores that need customers. By limiting you to 4000 items, you're limited to being a small-medium store, and there will be customers left to shop at every store. I say that the in-game economy is pretty tough. SOE tries to kill it every other month, but it still survives. What we do with our stores can only help.
Rational people (like myself of course) say that the 4000 item limit is too low for a master merchant. It's a crappy byproduct of a poorly designed system.
SOE's response to this issue has always been that you're a worthless peon (aka customer) and that they hate you.
Hope this helps...
