Thread: How long did it take YOU to Master Merchant?
So... how long it take ya?
I'm a Merchant and I have no clue what the best way to get Merchant XP is.
He has the right idea, get all the vendors you can, 6 will be the max, but it is not Hiring, it is the Managment tree. Go up that to level 4, get 6 vendors.
Once you have 6, put like 4 in the back and label them "Nothing here" so people dont look. Make sure you have cash in them to stay up and running.
But put at least 1 vendor out there where poeple can come in your shop and buy from. You get exp from people looking at your vendor. Only need one to get it.
Next I went to advertaising so i could get myt name on the vendor map listed, and listed my 3 vendors on the planetary map. I have 3 vendors in the back where no one goes cause they have nothing on them.
Then when thats all up I go to town and macro and advertising /shout telling people where my shop is. It has worked like a charm.
I also have a couple friends useing a macro I made that keeps them looking at my vendor all night while they sleep for that extra exp ![]()
6 Vendors gets you about 21500 exp every 24 hours. The macro to look at your vendor get you 300 exp and hour per person.
Hope this helps.
P.S. So far I am on day 8 and I am...4/3/1/4.
God no, the last thing we need is another loser (like Underground) spamming the city day and night about selling 100k crystals and 100k holos on his merchant, only to get there and find them empty.
To answer the question, I am holo-grinding merchant and actually built up a good set of repeat customers selling materials (power mostly) at a good price. If I started Christmas day, and master today (I'm pretty sure I master today) that is 21 days. Three weeks.
If you have several million credits you can simply hire a dozen or so people to continually hammer your shops non-stop every day, paying the door fee 4x per hour and get through it a little faster, but not much.
By actually selling something people wanted (high quality sliced weapons), effective word of mouth advertising, keeping my vendors stocked, appropriate email updates at major restocks, building an attractive store in a popular player city... basically trying to be a GOOD MERCHANT... I made master in 3 weeks.
I also made about 2 million credits. ![]()
Glonoin,
I'm sorry that you think all merchants are losers. Too bad for you. Some of us are actually fair people.
I wasn't referring to merchants, I was referring to shout spammers.
Big difference, unless they are one and the same.
