Thread: Proposal. Add vendors an option to set a % discount for one or more Guilds.
Vendors in Shadowbane had this option.
In Shadowbane, many guilds could form nations and the vendors allowed you to set independent profit margins for the following:
- Nation Members
- Guild Members
- Regular Customers
I liked it alot.
Right now I don't have a discount for guildmates simply because it's not administratively feasible, and it would essentially force me to do all their items custom, which would be more work for me, in order for there to be a discount. I just thought it was too much hassle, so for my sanity I don't give a discount, and just contribute a hefty amount to city hall and hope that it works out.
Even if there were private vendors, it would still be a hassle because I would have to duplicate stock - 1 for guild, 1 for general public. Ugh, no thanks. Still would get custom orders "ummm there's no 'x' on your guild vendor". So a guild discount would probably be a great solution.
I think the private vendor would still be useful for times when you want to set-aside or reserve a portion of stock for certain people/groups.
Sorry - This issue makes too much sense and we can't have logic interfere with grieving our Merchant players, now can we?

Agreed. I would love to see a vendor option that allows me to give discounts to:
Faction
PA
City citizen
Individual
I wish I could, for example, give a 20% discount to rebels, a 40% discount to my PA, 25% discount to some other friendlyPA, a 10% discount to citizens of my city, and then discounts to names individuals of my choosing. If someone was in multiple categories, they would just get the biggest discount (rather than them being cumulative). I can't see how this would be all that difficult to implement.
