i realise ad barking is limited to npc's but is there any reason why the protocol droid cannot ad bark as well? afterall it is supposed to be a translator droid and therefore speaks. i wanted to use one to welcome customersin to my shop in the polite manner they usually use. but sadly he just stands there like the big tin can that he is.

Yes my biggest disappointment upon reaching Master was the realization that the shiny protocol droid which is our only perk is a mute.

I want a merchant droid, one that will do 2 main functions

1. When people click on him to convers it will have a script the merchant wrote like "Hello, I am programed to direct you to IooCam's, they sell X Y Z. Would you like me to send you a way point? I can also allow you to send an email to my master"
   
   
   
   • Yes, send me the waypoint - they send a email that the merchant wrote with the way point.
     
   • No thank you - Says,"Well thank you for your inquery"
     
   • Send an Email - The client pops up with the owners name, and subject "Droid Inquery".
   
   
2. You be able to set there name like you would a harvester, so You can use more than one word.

In order to make this thing fair, It will count as a pet, and is only active when the owner is on. It should also have a skill check, like level 3 Ad or so.

It should not just yell stuff (that would drive me nuts) and maybe only a prodical droid type.

Actually your suggestion would be a good module for a protocol droid.

And I'm disappointed my Master-level vendor can't bark.

I have posed that request on the corroboard we will see what we are told.

It is amazing that only the NPC vendors can talk. Heck, I have the little metal security devices by the exits of some stores in my area thanking me for shopping there and to have a nice day.. and these are no more than a pair of metal tubes.. not some sophisticated droid or terminal! For the life of me I can not figure out why a recorded message can not be put in a droid or terminal.. any droid or terminal.

All that said.. it was my biggest disappointment as well upon reaching master.. well maybe my second biggest.. the fact he only came in pink and I sat there recreating him for 45 minutes cursing my terrible luck at getting the same color each time,before accepting this as fact, was my biggest disappointment.
