Hehe.. a DE that charges to let people enter? That takes guts.
Just an FYI though, 99% of the people that hit the fee and walk away without paying will never send you a tell or email to let you know it bugs them. It really does cost you a lot of business, but its your call. At the very least, I hope you have a pretty huge stock, because the people that do pay to enter are expecting that if they had to even pay 1cr to enter.. and will be a customer lost forever if you don't.
The whole house fee thing is pretty stupid IMHO, for some bizarre reason people take it as a personal insult with one exception.. if you run a bar / nightclub type establishment.
I was on a running around surveying the other night and ran by a store. I was going to stop in and see what they had on the vendor. The 1cr entrance fee popped up. I didn't get upset, or write an email, but I hit cancel and kept on running. I just didn't feel like paying to browse. It's your choice, but I'd think long and hard about the entrance fee decision. Just my opinion.
I think some one in the other thread started in the General forum on this subject hit the nail right on the head. 99% of the time if there is an entrance fee, the vendor within willeither haveno stock or just a bunch of garbage the owner collected in his travels, so that person avoids the homes with fee's. This actually makes sense really... considering the only people that would charge fee's are theones trying to work their skills up.. you can count on it being a sure sign that they have not mastered their proffession. So evenif they have put anything on their vendor to selll.. it will most definately be of inferior quality, and that just isn't something thatmost people are willing to pay extra to see.
With few exceptions, I think the folks willing to pay to enter alsoknow this, but they realize it gains the merchant xpas well, and arepaying to help the merchant get a bit of xp. Most folks are unaware this generates xp though.
