Thread: Question on ownership of vendors...
Okay, here's the situation, I want to know if doing this is feasible...
Normally I play on Kauri, but I just started a new character on Chilastra with a friend who's also starting a new character there. I wanted to become a Master Doctor for sure, so I used a profession calculator to come up with a profession combo that leaves me with 0 skill points, which I really like, and that involves most everything I want to accomplish with the character. But then I thought, how would I make money with a Master Doctor(other than healing people in the med center, but that's beside the point since people don't tip like they used to, I've noticed)? Selling stim packs and wound packs on a vendor would do nicely. This is where the conflict starts...
I've already worked out my professions, I'd have to drop a lot of what I'd like to do in order to pick up Novice Artisan and 3-4 blocks of Business in order to have my own vendor tosell my stims. My friend who's starting on Chilastra with mesaid I'd have to team up with a reliable Merchant whowould tell me when I soldsomething and tip me the exact amount of the sale, but thatseems rather, uh.. stressful. Plus, being on a new server where I don't know the people, I don't know who I can trust and who I can't.
That all being said, I proposed an idea to my friend that I saw on SWGCenter as a Tip of the Day - the /transferstructure command. So, I've come here to ask if this would work as intended. I purchase the desired house deed and give the deed to a Merchant, or someone who can spare a vendor for me. He/she places the house and the vendor inside. Then he/she uses the /transferstructure command with me inside. Would doing this give me control of the house and the vendor without having to get Artisan?
No it won't work. The vendor belongs to whoever placed it and you can't transfer it.
If this DID work it would be an exploit. You are asking for a way to gain Business III and keep it without having to use the skill points for it. Would it be fair to transfer a house deed and give a Master Merchant the ability to make stim and wound packs? No. Vendors are available only to people with Business III and above into TO
