Thread: Kauri Resource Sellers Unite!
As a group we provide the essential building blocks to all items in this game and yet we areexpected tosell our product at the lowest margins of any merchant. At the same time the running of a mining operation is among the most expensive and time consuming of the professions and often our cash is tied up in inventory for a very long time.
It is time to organize and protect our marketplace. While mining is still profitable who hasn't noticed the signs of hard times ahead. High quality resources are being dumped on the bazaar far below their real value, many customers consider 3cr a unit to be a price ceiling, regardless of quality , it takes longer and longer to turn stock over. All of these things point to difficulties down the road unless we work together to head them off.
By forming a loose knit association we can work together and see the prices we deserve and work to keep items from being dumped into the marketplace. It doesn't take much, a few e-mails, a mailing list and a desire to protect the resource. This isn't price fixing or collusion, I'm a free marketeer to the bitter end. I simply propose sharing information and helping each other stay aware of a constantly changing resource market.

We've done something similar on Kettemoor, we call it the Kettemoor Resource Network, and we set up our own in-game chat channel. Only sellers in the channel, no buyers, and we don't discuss prices in channel. We use it to share information on resource shifts, and to help out with orders when something comes in that a we can't provide our customer ourself.
It works out quite well, we've got around 50-60 members, although we did take the channel private a while back to stop some from just stopping by and trying to unload tons of material without ever bringing any orders to the channel.
