Thread: Nook's Cranny closes it's doors
First off a little back story, I run a little store outside of Coronet called Nook's Cranny, most people on Kettemoor have heard of it. It sold most things made my master elite crafter. I Nook Thomas am a master merchant and played the "pure" merchant by just buying and selling. The store was quite successful and I kept expanding.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed that I was getting several hundred cancelled sales each week, and it became quite a chore to relist all these items. Then I had to go away for the weekend, as well as the day before and after the weekend, I just got back earlier today, and I knew that all my weapons sales would be canceled and that none of my vendors would be advertised on the map for the whole weekend. At this point all the pieces of the puzzle fell together, the game was becoming work. It was becoming time demanding and tedious. So what did I do, I listed everyone of the sales that cancelled on the weekend at 800cr and plan on getting the hell out of merchant as soon as possible. After talking to fellow merchants they too know all too well about this "burn out".
This profession is not fun with the following things implimented;
All auctions expire after a week, this is the worst by far, it wastes hours upon hours of my time, it is not fun to deal with, and was the main reason I quit.
Planetary add's unlisting after every reset, yet another time waster, not only is the game a job, but it is now a 7 day a week job.
In my opinion these are the worst 2 by far, they outweigh all the useless skill blocks, all the vendor fee's and all the artisans that can do almost exactly what we can do.
So I say farwell, and you can all witness the demise of another unsatisfied master merchant.
Yeah ... the delisting of items and losing the planetary ad are really bugging the piss out of me.
I haven't reached quitting stage yet ... but when I do, these will be the issues that drive me over the edge.
