Thread: A way to handle guild discount sales.
Set up a guild storage facility. Each crafter then have a backpack on the wall next to thair vendor. On the vendor there are only "tokens" for sale, cheep items like chance cube or armour segments or what ever at the price of the real items. Foe each token there is a real item in the backpack.
Then you have a bunch of trustworthy people on the admin list, so when ever a guild member wand something at the special guild rate they contact one of these trust worthy persons, and ask them to get it for them then buys the token. The trust worthy person take the item from the backpack and trade it for the token.
Is some outsider comes along and buys all the tokens... well you just made a howl bunch of extra credit off relatively worthless items.
That's a sweet idea.
I'll pose it to the rest of the guild to see if they would be interested.

I have given it some thought, and I think I have found a way in witch it can be handled with current systems.

interesting idea. But very impractical as it relys on a lot of player interaction.
I've always liked the idea of using the "offer" feature to give discounts. This variation would only require more backpacks. Basically you are setting up a "guild" vendor. Lets use a scout blaster as an example, they normally sell for 5k, but you want to offer then to a guild for 2.5k. Rather than putting the SB on the vendor you place it into a backpack called "XYZ guild scout blaster". Into this bag you also place a 'chance cube' with the title "XYZ Guild: offer to vendor for 2.5k cr". Then place the travel pack on the vendor for 5k cr.
When XYZ guild memberA comes to buy the weapon, he pays the full price. Then he turns around and offers the 'change cube' to your vendor for 2.5k cr. When you get this offer (maybe next morning) you e-mail the "trustworthy" guild member to verify that XYZ guild memberA is in fact a current member of the guild. Once that's confirmed, you can accept the offered 'change cube', thus completing the discounted transaction.

I wish there was a way to specify a certain player/guild or even faction for access to a vendor or item.
Currently I handle guild orders with a "Special Order" vendor I have in my workshop on the other side of town from my main shop. The workshop has an anonymous house name and the vendor is not registered on the planetary map.
When an item is ready I send the person an email with the location of the vendor.
The system has worked great so far, although there is nothing to stop some random person from coming into the workshop and accessing the discounted items on the vendor.
