Hi Doc,

Question for you regarding vendor poaching. I never realized it was such a problem until I came to the merchant boards to find out how to stack lines of text in a building sign. I am a MBE and MDoc. I don't have enough skill points to obtain business three, but did a when i first started so I am using the old box vendor that Icreated a while ago.I am essentially poaching. After researching the two sides of the issue I agree that it is wrong, however, is there a tentative date set as to when poaching might go away? If so, what will happen to poached vendors that have millions of credits worth of inventory on them such as mine? I will correct the problem before this occurs if I had some idea of when that might be. I don't want to wake up some morning and find that my vendor and 20 million credits worth of nurtients, pets and medicines are gone. Most likely I will drop master doc in order reach business 3 again.

Personally, I think the ability to use a crappy vendor should be given at novice artisan, you have to burn the first two boxes in the business tree that are worthless and a waste of skill points. I doubt I will ever ask another PC to sell my goods because honestly I do not trust anyone in this game. I am a businessman IRL and I don't do business with anyone whom I don't meet face to face, and about 50% of those people I do not trust either. People are shadey in general as I am sure you can see by the debate raging in this forum about poaching vendors. Most people in business will lie steal and cheat their grandmothers to get ahead (this includes games or real life). I guess the same holds true for me since I should have known better but was poaching.

All I would like to know is when they might implement a change? Thanks for you time,

Paccinni

I am glad you know what you are doing is wrong. Skill point allocation is one of the greatest challenges that any of us face when we make our character to be balanced. The key is that you are using more skill then you are allocated skill points. And that gives you an unfair advantage compared to all other players

My advice to you is to start making friends in the merchant community. Selling to multiple merchants can help mitigate your fears of corrupt merchants.I understand the need to intimately know them, but realize this, this is a game. It's fake money. In the end, the possiblity of making a friend should more then outwiegh 20 million cr. in sales.

Balkstar,
Thanks for the reply and the encouragement. I have been reading further posts and found the main answer Iwas looking for from DocSavag. That question was what might happen to currently stocked vendors. In another thread he said he is advocating no item loss to the devs, so that puts my fears to rest. Guess it is time to get back up to business 3. Thanks
