Thread: Making Merchants\Vendors More Playable/Fun
In the spirit of making Merchant\Vendor more viable, usable and most importantly, playable & fun, here's some suggestions that I hope will be considered as part of the Merchant update. In no particular order:
1 - Vendor Image Design - allow ID's the ability to ID Vendors - and give them experience for it.
2 - Vendor Batch Item Loading - allow loading items from a crate, or multiselecting items, and loading them all on a vendor for the same price. The ability to multiselect items should function from inventory & from the stockroom.
3 - Remote Vendor Item Loading - allow loading items on remote vendors, include the Batch Loading ability as in #2 above.
4 - Remote Vendor Item Retrieval - allow retrieval of tiems from remote vendors
5 - Private Sales - allow loading items that can only be sold to a specific person, guild or faction
6 - Vendor Moving - allow the ability to /move forward, /move back, /move up, /move down (/rotate already works) on initialized vendors.
7 - Vendor Bark Ignore - this can be the ability to add vendors to the /ignore list or a global setting where a player can /ignore all vendors
The decision for skill certifications, costs (ex on loading & retrieving items remotely) is left as an exercise for SOE ![]()
I don't care when the Merchant update occurs, just that it does at some point in time. Although some of these suggestions have been repeated often times in the past, if enough different folks bring up the same salient points repeatedly, those points may be elevated into the realm of being recognized by the SOE SWG team. Unscientific as that may sound ... it's our only hope
Ye gods, that would be nice.

I would also like the ability to admin players to vendors, and for you to get a % of the sales that the vendor gets.
IMO that would make Merchant more business like.
nimh
Some more points:
8 - Allow single-click, in place repricing - let me select a bunch of items already on sale, set a new price & reprice them.
9 - Force me to click refesh\search AFTER I select the category - don't automatically go off and refresh a category as soon as I click on it! Substitute a double-click shortcut for the refresh\search.
10 - default action (OnEnter) should always be refresh, never retrieve or sell, unless that's the only option.
SOE, also realize that some of these suggestions should reduce network traffic & database load.
