Thread: vendor question.... (like you haven't seen this subject thousands of times!)

Sorry about the really lame subject heading, but I am seriously wondering if there is anyway to move a vendor. Not from one building to an other, but just a little bit from the side of the merchant tent to the middle of the merchant time. About three months ago I randomly placed vendors without thinking, and now the OCD freak in me is annoyed at how asymmetrical it looks. HELP!

It's odd really, we have a option in the radial menu for Pick up but it doesn't work. Vendors are designed for when you drop them they stay static but yet we have a pick up option. I don't know if the pick up option is a bug that needs to be removed or thier is truely a pick up function in-game to move vendors but its broken. But when you drop a vendor it does make a clear point that once dropped it cannot be picked up mor moved, so i am guessing you need to remove those vendors and just recreate and redrop

Yeah, SOE needs to change it so vendors can be moved throughout rooms.

would be nice.. but the answer is no... there is no way to move vendors once placed. you must destroy them and recreate from terminal.
I don't understand it either.

The pickup command in the radial menu is left over from when you could pick them up and put them back down (Before you initialized them) apparently this cause some issues and it was removed some time ago.
I don't pretend to actually know what the issue with moving vendors is but I know that you just can't do it. Moving them screws things up somehow and they go to great lengths to make sure you don't move them. If I had to guess I would guess that the location of a vendor is a key used in the vendor database.
