Just thought this up while i was sitting here and thought it was a cool idea. You know the load screens as we travle from planet to planet that are filled with usless information about hurtons and the like. Why not have the devs reserve them for advertisments. We could pay a fee every month to the dev's (incredits) to have your coustomisable advertisment posted as we load in and out of the game, from port to port ect. You could put information like w/p werapons,vendors, food ect.

just a thought

I love this idea! Any way to advertise properly in SWG would be wonderful, and without having to resort to barking in Coronet

A novel idea, but Coronet spam will still be there. Also I don't know if the system will allow differentiation between the various servers. We may actually get ads from FarSider instead of Flurry.

Personally I'd rather have the splash screens show existing bugs in the system and when the planned fixes are coming out.

Unfortunatly, those splash screens are part of the code wich sits on your hard drive. The only way to change those are through the code pushes. Also, they are not server specific.

One thing that was suggested a while back was to have a visual display at the starports. Like a big billboard. Each starport could have them. Players could access the billboard control to place a message which would scroll through for 2 mins for the cost of 2000 credits or something. It would work like a juke-box. People would queue up messages, and they would get displayed in the order they were posted.

Also, with these newdroid effects and fireworks,I can see a great possibility for a premium message which wouldexecute a fireworks/laser light showwhen the message displayes for 5-10k.
