OK, I understand That advertising Is a "Big part" of your sales, but this is getting annoying. I have about 30 people so far in my ignore list and I have to add 1 or 2 every time I go to Theed..

Ok, I Was a Crafter Before ( Remember swoops by crate ? )

Ok don't take this as a "Flame" But as a Guide to better spaming and Less being /addignored by people..

1: Find a good spot.. Where people can read it, But away from entrances or where people stay.. (a few meters away from starport entrances, By the side where people can read, But that don't influences noones gameplay)

2: Add a 30 - 45 sec Timer Between a mensage and another ( Trust me, you don't have to spam every second, Its very annoying and people will most likely/addignore you.)

3: Keep it Simple, No need to useless Things, Keep it direct to the point...

I am Sure If you New guys out there follow a few of those steps, your sales will increase and you wont be /ignored...

PS: The Devs added a thing, called auction chat. That's the place to spam, I usually switch to auction tab when I am looking for something.

I did too, until I realized that if I want to save *any* of my insanity I need to start using /addignore on any spammer. buyers, sellers, ents, combatants LFG, general weirdos... you name it, I got them ignored. I enjoy the silence

Merchant droids are generally the best tool for spamming. Even if they disappear if you use JtL.

Though I don't think the devs have em fixed yet.

Good news! Barker droids were fixed with yesterday's publish! And I'm glad! I definitely had a drop in sales without my little droid advertising for me.

30-45 seconds is far too short of time. IMO, at least a two minute timer. I will scroll back up if something catches my eye that I want, and the spam isn't irritating me that day. Anything less than a minute apart goes on my ignore list, afk'ers automatically make my ignore list.

I did experiement with market spamming once upon a time. I did not find the increased sales I got a better benefit than staying offpotential customers' ignore lists. The type of customers I cater to are the ones who frequently use the /addignore as well.

Oh, and anyone who uses u, ur, m8 or anything else like that is also automatically put on my ignore list.

Back before the afk spamming became really popular, I would go to C-net daily to the 'spammers' market where atk people would actually be hawking their goods, or looking to buy. If I needed a quick bit of cash, I'd gather up a bunch of resources from my stores, head there, and just wait for those who were in the market for some, and occasionally advertise what I was carrying. I enjoyed that aspect of it actually, heading down to the marketplace early in the morning to get a fix on prices for that day, what was hot, what was not. Quite fun. If those types of 'spammers' returned, I'd be back down there every morning again as part of my normal business routine. Of course, nearly pointless to do it this way now with the global vendor search, but it was still fun.

30-45 seconds *is* too short of a time. Spamming is considered harassment if the same message is repeated more than once in 60 seconds (blocks up spatial chat tab, creates lag, and is just generally annoying). Found that out when I reported a particularly annoying spammer who felt the need to repeat himself every 5 seconds. /whistle
