Thread: Did I miss it? House PAckup & Merchant Tents?

I just realized I have no recolletion of a Dev saying whether or not we will be able to pack up Tents. I know we wont be able to pack Cantina's, Guild Halls, or Med Centers.... but what about tents?

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

I would imagine not, as it like the others are 'skill level placed' structures.


Imagine all that would come from the many who own a Merch Tent without the skill, packing it up full not being able to place it.


of course the other side of the coin is yes, as it is not a 'city structure', and right along with that

TH said something about it in one of his replies, but basically it's only for houses.

With TH and subjects like this that might not be as white and black as it seems (what is a house anyway) its probably best to wait until the feature is back on TC in a few weeks and test it out.

Well, there's also been the other talk that says it isn't for guild halls, tents, cantinas, hospitals, and theaters.

Yea there is always talk. THe proof happens when it actually works out that way on the server. I don't doubt they put in special rules to prevent those structures from being packed up. Why they bothered to worry about placement rights on them is beyond me since you can keep them in the same location forever without having the skill.

I do know that in its first appearance on TC before they yanked it back off, tents couldn't be packed up so there's some form of code already there preventing it.

I asked about it back then and was told that it was specifically for "house" structures.

It is only for small, medium, and large houses. TH confirmed it over in the Cities and Housing forum not long ago. Basically the other structures have a slightly different system for placing/deeding so the housing system doesn't work on them. That's not to say that it won't happen eventually, just not with the initial roll-out.
