Okay, I just became a Novice Merchant and want a vendor tent. I know I need Efficiency IV before I can set one up. Question is : can a buddy who has a tent deed transfer it to me, then I can set it up with only Novice Merchant ? Or does he have to set it up for me ?

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Im pretty sure anyone can have the deed in their inventory, but to actually set it up you will need Efficiency IV, so untill then have you buddy set it up for ya.

Sorry, no can do

If a buddy were to try and transfer it to you and you do not have Eff IV he gets a system message saying you lack the skill to have such a structure.

Here's how it works.

You can set up a tent yourself, with efficiency 4, and then drop efficiency 4 and still retain the tent.

You cannot transfer the tent to anyone who does not have efficiency 4 or you will get an error message.

You can set up vendors in someone else's tent, if you have admin.

Very nice...thanks for all the help, people. Luckily I have a buddy who has a "mall" and let me set up my vendor there and get me registered on the map until I get Efficiency IV. Wish me luck.

So if I get X4XX merchant, drop a tent, drop that merchant line, I still get to keep the tent correct?

For now, yes.
No telling what will happen in the future if they decide to fix that.
