Thread: Findings regarding abandoned/untouched vendors
Findings regarding abandoned/untouched vendor:
Date vendor placed: August 31, 2004
Date email sent to me regarding vendor has not been accessed: September 9, 2004
At first I thought, has it been two weeks already? No.
Ah! The sent out an email several days again of time. How nice.
::stops what she is doing and goes to access said vendor::
::stops in the middle of that and frowns::
Wait a minute, I just did a status check of all vendors last night to get a count of how many items were on each, and maintenance check. That included that vendor.
::frowns again::
I do not like this, Sam I am.
Fourteen vendors right now to watch over (11 of my own, 4 from my husband's character). Every other day I devote some time to making sure I have new stock up on a vendor, and rotate through. This means that I personally may not open the sales window screen on any one of my vendors for 28 days. I do however, check status at least once a week, and update my sales records.
I also believe that this vendor has been accessed by customers over the last nine days.
During the last nine days, I also put her in a new uniform (actually, that was two days ago).
Since I drop in 50k at a time for maintenance, I did not put in more, so I do not know if this will affect the status of 'abandoned vendors'.
Conclusion:
The owner of a vendor must access the sales window to reset the countdown for an abandoned vendor deletion.
Opinion:
I do not like how this is set up. I check status once a week, but because I manage so much, one day I'll do deeds, then furniture, then foods, then clothing, then BE-Clothing, and work my way through, /and/ still take time to play my combat alt to just mindlessly kill things when my brain becomes fried from crunching numbers or crafting or decorating. I have gotten used to simply checking status not the sales window until I have new items to put up for sale, or have to restock. If we cannot get rid of this abandoned vendor bit, can we at least make it so all you have to do is access your vendor in any way, not just through the sales window?
I know it's not a big deal to just change my practice and when I'm doing status checks, to look at the sales window while I'm there, which I will start doing. Still, this makes me frown. (Can't you tell?)
