Thread: Vendor Deletion

I have been offline for a week now due to loss of power after Hurricane Frances. I am not sure when the last time I visited my vendors was but it was sometime after Pub 10. I usually have at least one sale a day or at most every other day. Though these are usually from just 2 of the 6 vendors I have, the others are a little spread out.
My question is if the empty OR 2wks issue has been resolved and I should be worried about my vendors being gone when I eventually get power back am able to log on. I am accessing the forums through computers on my college campus so no chance of logging on that way.

We aren't really sure yet, but it appears the or is accurate. I am waiting on a response on this issue now but I don't now when it will come.

Thanks Doc. Feel free to use my situation as a clear example of why the OR should be the way it should work. My being offline is because of a situation beyond my control and if I lose everything I had on vendors I do not think I have the heart to start over.

fwiw I"ve asked for a justification for why they feel it is necessary. I don't see it as useful at this point based on how the skill checks work and how the vendor item cycle works. I think it was left over from a previous design of how the skill point checks were going to work, but I can't be sure as I haven't had a reply to it yet.

I feel for you. I was offline for 11 days due to charley and 5 due to frances. I'm dreading Ivan.

please please make this a priority and fast.
i also had alot sales but still got from some vendor email it wasnt used a while blah blah maybe gets deleted soon. (BTW no 2nd email after u use, so u are always afraid it isnt really refreshed so u loose all)
its a rediculous feature and NEED to go or changed to and AND not OR.
as the original poster showed clear, there are very often issues like desasters whch can happen, and after such to loose all your hard work, cause someone feel such stupid feature is needed, dont go into my head.
its frustrating and dont serve ANY use to the merchant profession.
beside desasters its dammit not unnormal that ppl take a 3 or 4 wek vacation in real life, yes wow we got also a real life.
2 weeks is alone cause of such totally rediculous.
pls pls do something and do it fast, its destroyingh the fun running a shop.

I'm having to tear mine all down fast, and deleteing alot of goods. I have to go to annual training on Sept 15th. Everything that doesn't get dumped by then, is going to get destroyed by this stupid system. Forgive me Sony, for having the bad taste to serve my country. Both my accounts are canceled and end on Sept 14th. I don't want to be forced into being a no-life-having powergamer. I keep my vendors stocked, with thousands of items. They shouldn't be deleted unless empty. The 30 day cycle should have been good enough.

Since the stockroom now has 30 days. I think at the very least nothing should be deleted so long as items are in the stockroom. Please help us merchants on this Doc

Yep still waiting on power to return. It has been almost a week since I lost it(Sun night) and I think the last time I messed with the vendors was Friday but could have been Thursday. I know one of them I have up just for fun(dressed up as an imperial officer and he is in our squadrons brig) and have not touched since before patch day. No one else would be activating him either so he could go away as early as Tues. Hopefully will be back up tomorrow but at this rate I am not counting on anything.

Guys, I have brought this up. I have made the point strongly that it is a disaster waiting to happen, I have asked for a justification for how it works and have suggested very forcefully that it isn't fun and isn't necessary.
Beyond that we have to wait and see what they say about it. My last word was that TH was going to bring it up to the team and see what he could find out.
