Thread: Is Merchant a useful Profession?

I'm thinking of adding Merchant to my array of professions. My dilemma is, is Merchant even useful without a crafting profession? I want to keep Master Swordsman, but want to sell all my loot in my own vendors. So, is Merchant cool to have, or just useless without an Elite Crafting profession?

I suppose that would depend on your expectations. I am a Master Artisan, Master Architect, and a Master Merchant. I only make about 25% of the products I sell. The rest I buy off of people and resell on my vendors. Thats what merchants do. You CAN make a lot of credits that way but it does take some knowledge of the markets/priceing on your server and in the area you expect to sell in. Just selling loot is questionable to me but hey maybe you have lots of good stuff.

Keep one thing in mind. To be a real merchant takes some dedication to the profession. The game is full of merchant wannnabees and everybody and there pet has a vendor with or without the merchant skills to care for the business. Good luck.

honestly... your best bet with loot... is to sell on your server's forums.

a vendor can be nice.. but it isn't really necessary. And it isn't worth the skill points unless you just have an extra 24 you dont want to spend on staying alive.
