Thread: If I drop merchant skills can I still use Vendors?

I have place a vendor while I had hiring 3, then I surrendered all the merchant and one box of artian and I still could use my vendor. If I surrender the rest of my artian skills will I be able to still use my vendor or do I have to keep the skill?.

Nope. You can completely drop artisan and still use your vendor. Nothing at all will change except that you won't be able to place new vendors or make any changes to existing ones (like register it on the planetary map or dress them, etc). You will still be able to stock them, people will still be able to buy items off them, and you will still be able to put maintenance into them.
Supposedly this is going to change, but when, no one knows. (though DocSavage has been passing hints that something is coming.) It is not intended to work this way and it isn't encouraged, but it isn't a 'bad' thing either. As it has been said before, let your own conscience be your guide.

Actually, the "intelligent" thing is to exploit the system for all it's worth, especially if no disciplinary action will be taken. Exploiters may exploit for many reasons, but stupidity is never one of them - they're usually quite cognizant of what they're doing. In fact, if they aren't, it's accidental and thereforedoesn't really count as an exploit by most definitions.
You'd be far better off making an appeal to "honor" or "fair play" or some such thing.
Or, if you're of a more religious bent, like Brother Balki, threaten him with eternal damnation.
But "use your brain"? What the hell is that?
