Thread: Novel custom greetings... what are you saying to people?

So no surprise, I've always made sure I've got the max number of vendors in my home / workshop / shop, a small well-decorated house on Tatooine. Helps with the merchant xp, of course.

All of my vendors (bar the droid, below) are Rodians, and are dressed just like me (though I'm human - don't like the idea of owning human slaves, though... Rodian slaves are fine!) in a white 'plain robe', a black 'headwrap' and an olive-green 'shoulder strap' - all in all, very arab/mujahiddin-looking. Just what I was going for. Add a laser carbine - the one that looks just like an AK-47 - to the weapons vendor, and the impression is complete!

Trouble is, I've only ever needed two vendors for my business, so what to do with the other three? Here's what I've done...

  • Krassch, the Workshop Slave

Stands in my workshop by the crafting station - the workshop doubles as my living quarters. Krassch is a grumpy old **edit**, and yells "Oi, you're not supposed to be back here, this is our living area!" at any customer foolish enough to ignore the 'Private - Staff Only' sign.

  • Nameless, the LE Repair Droid (labelled 'Offers')

These guys just look cool... used to have a WE-Tredwell droid, but replaced him for one of these as soon as I could. Of course, he can't say anything, but the vendor next to him says "If you want to sell me anything, please read the instructions on the 'Offers' vendor" or something like that. Of course, I still get masses of half-busted CDEF pistols offered for 2k a go... sigh.

  • Restra, the Housekeeper

This pretty wee Rodian is found in the shop section of the building as you enter, and invariably yells "Don't go tracking all that dust onto my nice clean floor" at anyone who enters the shop.

My regular customers seem to like the RP-style vendors, and if there are customers in the shop, I'll always try to interact with the vendors in front of them - consoling Restra or just yelling at Krassch to be nicer to the customers! What's amazed me is how many of my customers will also RP with the vendors if they have an audience!

I did go into a house sometime back where the owner had installed two comely female humans in his bedroom and had them dressed up in exotic (i.e. revealing!) entertainer costumes... as I entered, they said something along the lines of "Hi, honey, we've missed you soooo much - come and play!".

What have you done with 'spare' vendors?

Aethal Sar, Weaponsmith. Retired from game - probably missing it already!
