I am Master Merchant, and I decided to make a new vendor to sell some loot items I was tired of storing. I made a female Bith and placed her in my shop. My vendors wear a uniform, since I am not a tailor it is simple, brown boots, khaki pants, black short-sleeved shirt.
When I gave the female Bith vendor a short-sleeved shirt, she thanked me for it, but did not don it. Usually if a race is incapable of wearing something they would tell me so and not take it. Thinking it was a bug, I made another black short-sleeved shirt and gave it to her. Same result (Thanks for the snazzy new clothes, boss!, no change in shirt). So I looked at what she was wearing - white simple shirt. I then crafted a black simple shirt and gave it to her, and again she did not wear it. I verified that it wasn't a bug with updating my display by leaving the shop and then checking with another account on another PC, still a white simple shirt.
Is this a known problem with Bith vendors?

I have had amale Bith for quite sometime (haven't tried to "dress" him lately though) and he accepted everything I threw at him; although I never tried headgear.
Sounds like a bug with that particular vendor. CSR's will tell you to remove all items from that vendor, remove all maintenence and delete that vendor and place another one. If it happens again, /bug it.

On a side note ...
Put a twi'lek headwear such as a bone crest on a bith vendor and see what happens. Unless fixed (which I highly doubt), you will see something disturbing.

I put an ornate head something or other I had looted onto my Aqualish vendor, and his entire head vanished!

The poor guy has over 100 items on him too, so it would be difficult to empty him and make a new vendor...

Has anyone else had that happen and can confirm it -- or any other disappearing vendor parts? That seriously would make for a cool themed shop!

I have a vendor missing a head. The aqualish does that if you give them any hat. Its just a "hole" in code as it were. Something they hadn't qute coded for. Hats are tricky due to the widely different head shapes in the game. They should just screen out outfits that don't work.
BTW: You can also get any female vendor to go naked (at least where it counts)if you equip clothing in the proper order. Not sure if its an exploit but I'm going to refrain from spelling out how you do it. They do look a bit like a barbie doll though, so its not exactly an attractive look, especialy the top side of things.
