Thread: Merchants! Help me Please! Im so confused...

Hello Everyone!
Iam in search of some answers........I am a master merchant. I have a wonderful shop setup, with alot of vendors . I have a great customer base, and love assisting my customers needs. Here is my situation......
I recently discovered the force is strong with me. I have had the visit from the Old Man and 2 Sith. Now I need to visit the Village and start on my grinding for xp. I am concerned tobegin the pathof becoming a Jedi (I want to become a Jedi), For the sake of my merchant template. How will/does Jedi training and all the skill points needed going to affect my merchant skills and business i currently operate? Will i have to drop my merchant skills?
I am aware of the new Merchant template options. But even so....can there be a Merchant Jedi ? (If there could....I would be him/her).
I think what I'm trying to say here is: I am very unaware of what to expect with the whole Jedi training and future it all entails. Can I be a merchant and operate my business as I normally do, andbegin my journeyof becoming a Jedi?
Anyone have any insight in this area?

I, personally, don't know how the skill points will work out but once you get to that point you should unlock a 2nd character. It might be feasable to work that character toward merchant if skill points are truly an issue.

Yes, its doable.
However, the merchant xp conversion rate is very difficult because you cap at 80k. So relying solely on merchant as a means of xp conversion simply isn't practical.
I don't know what you other skills are, but the ideal thing to do is to convert multiple xp types from multiple professions at once. Its all a matter of which FS skills you want to get and which ones you are CAN get as related to what skills you have right now.
Although I don't believe there are any FS skills that will enhance your merchant skills, I believe the biggest benefit to you as a merchant would be to get that second character slot open. This would give you 10 more lots and another character to template to augment your merchant business as you wish.
As long as you are patient and don't get all stressed out about finishing quickly, I don't think you should have to many problems unlocking and keeping your store open at the same time. Just remember that you have to use 24 skill points to unlock so plan your template accordingly.

Actually the lots are shared across both chars - 2nd char uses up a lot, will also use up a lot from main - 10 lots per account per server.

This is incorrect. It was once this way but has since changed.
The reason why I know this is because one of my guildmates has a Jedi and is not interested in crafting or merchant. As a favor to me, he placed 4 equipment factories for me and still had enough lots left for a large generic house for himself. His main character is still maxxed out on his lot with 5 small naboo houses of his own.
