Lost one of my old storage vendors today without any prior notice. I had gotten notices about some of my other vendors and I took the advice of having someone else visit them. On this one however, I had no warning whatsoever. I mean, I knew that I was going to eventually lose the vendor because I am no longer a merchant, but I was under the impression that as long as I had items on the vendor, it would stay up, and also that I would get a warning that it was going to be deleted beforehand. Of course it just had to be my loot vendor. Sets of Krayt tissues, skill tapes, NS shards, a set of 30% base krayt segments, locked containers, DoT weapons, etc., all gone. I submitted a ticket but I'm sure I won't be able to get anything back. I'm really considering cancelling my accounts now. Moreso than I ever have before.

Gosh this sucks, I'm so sorry. I know if something like that happened to me I'd be really upset. I guess what we all have to realize that there are going to be bugs and just try to deal. At least our profession is getting SOME attention.

I really think Sony should have made a point of sending emails to everyone, that anyone without the skill points for having vendors was in danger of losing that vendor at any time. After all, we get emails (lots of emails) about everything else that we do or that happens on the vendor. Not everyone reads all of the release notes, nor do they all come onto the forums and read about what is happening. Something as dramatic as this change should have been widely publicized, in a way that everyone that could be affected by it would know about it. This was all implemented very badly.

the whole idea to delete a stocked, maintained vendor (with having the proper skills) is nonsense and some idea of a brainless smurf imo.
sorry for harsh words but its simply how i feel.
for me it seems there are 2 kinds of employees here, some are programmers who simply can programm computer games and others are developpers who are there for having 'good' ideas and 'develop the game.
somehow it seems they let here programmers develop some parts of the game :/ that would explain alot imo
how would qui gon jin say? "the ability to program software dont make you intelligent"
well, but to be serious some so called features are really not good for the game, a profession or satisfaction of customers.
plus they make no sense at all or are unneeded.
/dissapointed
i got a vission for future!!!!
dev1: oh i got an idea!!!!
dev2: what is it this time?
dev1: since we could do that with the merchants lets do something same style, seemed to have worked out pretty well
dev2: well? all complained all day and for weeks!
dev1: and?
dev2: isnt that bad for our game? i mean customers get angry, several leave and so on?
dev1: nah, there are always some new players coming, dont forget we got the star wars title!
dev2: hmm ok tell me the idea!
dev 1: oki, here comes. its great one u will see
let us make it when someone not uses a factory for 2 weeks, then let it poof. oh and aditional if someone not drops anything into a house, it will poof after 2 weeks. that helps the architect profession also
dev2: sounds stupid, but hey lets give it a try
dev1: deal!

One thingI have been worrid about is getting the notice and not noticing. I get about 100 emails a night from sales and factories and vendors reporting failed auctions. There is a fairly good chance I might miss something in that sea of email.

So let me get this straight. You either had more vendors up than what you had skills for or have no skills to have any vendors at all and didn't think it wise to remove the items off so you wouldn't lose anything valuable in the event that something like this might happen?

So you saw the train comming and decided to sit on the tracks with your back to it until the horn was blown? No sympathy here. That's just plain stupidity. The goal was to get rid of poached vendors and that they did.

While this poor shmoe might have not had the skills to keep his vendors, there are PLENTY of people MASTER MERCHANTS who lost vendors and millions in credits due to this incredibly well thought through bs change...
I am one of those masters who lost a vendor and merchandise and all Sony will reply with is "working as intended"...
My A$$!!!
"I guess what we all have to realize that there are going to be bugs and just try to deal."
WHAT OTHER BUSINESS WOULD YOU ALLOW SUCH LENIANCY??? IF YOU BOUGHT A CAR THAT WAS A LEMON, YOU'D TAKE IT BACK AND GET A NEW ONE OR YOUR MONEY BACK.
I AM DONE "ENDURING" MISTAKES BY SONY AND HAVING TO "DEAL" WITH THEM!!!
RETURN MY WARES OR CREDITS THAT "YOUR" STUPID MISTAKE DELETED OR WATCH YET ANOTHER ACCOUNT BE CANCELLED AND ANOTHER DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER GET ADDED TO THE RANKS OF PEOPLE WHO TRY TO GET EVERYONE THEY KNOW TO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.

Personally, I've found SOE's warning e-mails to be just shy of useless. I get warning messages about harvesters being low on maintainence when the harverster hits 70% or so... and then the e-mail hangs in the system for another 6 hours before delivery. I've gone to a harvester within minutes of getting the damaged notice to find it down to less than 15%. God forbid I should have not been playing the game when the mail was finally delivered.
