Trying to fit everything in to my shop sign, I now realize there must be a character limit. I tried a couple forum searches, but only found a couple threads where it was mentioned in passing and those seemed to be guesses (52, 55 chars). Anyone know the limit so I can use them wisely? Thanks.

I *think* it's 128 characters.
I know that there is one because I've run into it but I've never actually counted.
Keep in mind that all the special characters for color count too.

Not sure, but they can be pretty long. And have many lines (at least 5). I'd be surprised if the limit is less than 128 characters. I've never run up against the limit. No harm in just trying though - plug in a random name like 0123456789012345... and see where it cuts off. Then post here and enlighten us all.

The magic number seems to be 120. The thing is, I found it also counts the "invisible" characters from any hex (color) code you might use, so if you like a multi-colored sign, keep it brief!

I was able to get this in as a name...
\#cc0000~Akkori Merchantile~
\#ffffffDE, Architect, Artisan Outlet

Thats a 115 characters, including spaces. If I add much more it starts to drop stuff. So I bet 120 is the cap.
