Thread: Prices on Personnel Vendors.. Fix the 7-day limit OR Tell me the price it didnt sell for !!!!

I have 6 vendors.. with over 100 items on each vendor.

Thing is.. I know were fighting to fix the 7-day rule for posting items.. which i totally agree sucks, but there is one more thing that sucks even more.

PRICES ...

I buy stock from people to supply my shop. Now its not too bad when you keep selling the same things and you get to know the prices... but what about when you have variety? I sell over 20 food items, over 100 clothing, and 20 types of weapons i get from suppliers. I dont make any of them.. so how should i know the prices. Each time the vendors spit everything out,im stuck there trying to find my price guide or something similiar to base a price off of. Try going threw 100 items of clothing and pricing each one ... It takes me over 1 hour to do it. REAL GOOD WASTE OF TIME.

A simple way to fix this problem.. would be to tell us how much it didnt sell for. Example :

Your fwg5 was not sold for 8000 credits and is in your stock room in moenia on naboo.

How hard is that?

Pls fix this.. OR fix it so as they just dont pop out.

Thx again.. Kral the merchant.

If you double click the item in your stockroom it will show you the price it was previously listed at.

Interesting - that is a good thing to know about finding the previous listed price. I am not at my system right now, so I can't check this myself, but I have a follow on question.

If you double click it (as recommended) does it also provide the text of any details previously accompanying the listing?

For instance, I sell both sliced and unsliced weapons in my vendor. However, after a week, when they both drop into the stockroom (along with all of my other stock) I can not always determine from the stats if a weapon was previously sliced or not.

In my initial listing I indicate in the details block whether the weapon is sliced. It would be very useful to have that old information to reference as well.

Of course, all of this is just a "band aid" on a bigger problem - that they drop out of the vendor at all.

Double clicking (or clicking view details) shows you the details of the previous sale. Including the comments.

I don't think this is correct. I'll have to test it more, but I think the price shown in that box is the price of the last item you sold, not the item that you are selling now.

No. You are confusing this with the sale window. The sale window defaults to the last price you put something up at.

The details window gives you the last price you charged for this item or the price you paid for the item if the item was placed into the stock room from the offers tab.

I have added it to my guide. Will repost new version soon. I changed my FAQ to a guide and added a FAQ section on topics like this. Soon it will not be a mini guide.

Too bad the old value doesn't propogate to the "Sell Item" window. Not sure about descriptions (haven't put any on the items I've sold).

Personally, my wishlist so far is:

  • Multi-select items (sell multiple at same price, remove multiple from vendor at once, remove multiple from stockroom at once, etc.)

  • Selling items from stockroom should default to previous price + description.

  • Command line functionality (so I can make macros for posting items)

  • Remove the 7 day timer.

Aye I figured this out today as well. For those of you who don't like double clicking you can use the examine dialog to get the same results. I have this thing about double clicking crates...

OK.. im new to the profession so please go easy on me. In EQ when you set prices for your items you sell it modifies a file on your computer with the name of the item being sold and the price your setting for that item, so that it "knows" what you normally sell that item for. You can easily modify that price in game and update the file. Then anytime you add that item to your vendor to be sold it automatically puts it up for sale at the price you put in the file. Iwould think that would be very easy to do here in this situation also.. as well as add a Description you would want to use for this item. I realize anytime you have "special or sliced" items this wouldnt help but if it works for 95% of our items it would make the 7 day dump a little more doable.
