Thread: Old Unused Vendors and the CSR response

Before I start this I just want to say that I am very angry at the pathetic way your profession is handled. Frustration after frustration after frustration after frustration... Also, this is a rant so if you don't want to hear it turn around now.
So, I'm the one who's lots the city mall is resting on, and we have a bunch of vendors that are old and unused, players who have quit or deleted thier character or have two hours of play per month or don't care at all. And we want to re-organize the mall so people can actually find stuff, right now it's a horrible mess since it's degenerated since the LAST time we re-organized... Anyway. The point is that I sent in a ticket asking for these vendors that haven't had any items on them or even been TOUCHED by thier owner in MONTHS or even YEARS to be removed. Hell, I still have a vendor I placed on my wookiee (long since deleted and replaced by a human, also thanks to stupid frustrating limitations) since about a week after Publish 7 hit. So I gave a list of the names of the vendors and asked for them to be destroyed. I figured I would get response such as "Sorry we can't remove another players stuff cause that would be like griefing" whcih would justify our exodus of the mall and redeeding it and such. Though I gotthis answer instead... Needless to say I'm angry. Iresponded in not the best way I assure you, but if this feature is actually added then it will fix a long-standing bug on your profession. And really help out a LOT of stuff.

Its a total pain in the arse to do but there is one very simple way to do it.. Well simple as in it can be done with some effort for the people that are left.
1st you set up a house right next door.. or as close as you can soo walk time is not bad.
2, all the remining people set up 1 vendor.. to do it at there convience, or all at once, what ever works for you all. Then you remove everything from all the working vendors, put um in packs and pop um on these new "storage vendors"
3, clear out everything you want to keep for decorations in your mall and store um in packs on a vendor.
4, when everything is outta the building that you want. and make sure of it, goto the maintance terminal and click delete all items.. or remove all items. Its something to that extent. Now everything in the mall that is left will be deleted (yes that means all vendors)
5, time to have fun, Redecorate, rearange your new vendors, get um all new outfits, and names. then restock.
this aucally is not as bad as it sounds. Ive moved buildings and vendors with 1k's of items in just a few hours by myself. One thing that helps alot is to dump your inventory on your new storage vendor, that way you can now take 130 items per trip. YOu can also you the Shift+ Up or down arrow to highlight your stuff to remove stuff from sale or into your inventory all at once. Buy putting all the stuff forsale in packs, retriving the stuf is easy, and belive it or not its tons faster to restock than you think.. About 5 times as fast posting new stuff than using the resell option in the menu. I now retrieve all my failed sales into my inventory when i restock and can save an hours time easy.
If you have a bunch of crafters that play a lot, atleast the ones you want to keep around this is pretty much your only option. Set up a time one night and get everyone to help out. Id bet you could do the whole thing in a single night. You will also have a feeling of a brand new mall and the fun of maybe redecorting in new themes or what ever. Sure its a PIA but i think in the end you will find it was well worth it.
to stop this from happeing again you might want to look into a master merchant running many of the vendors instead of every single crafter having there own. You can also reduce the number of vendors (which btw i cant stand going into a mall and seeing 30-40 vendors when if there was 1 or 2 or 5 i could just use the sort tabs and browes everything in about 5 mins instead of 15-20. then again most people dont even know what a sort tab, or a next button is anyway.. /sigh I cant belive the number of lvl 80 combat toons with 75+ badges that say there is a next button?? You can sort?? /sigh

Thanks for your great response! That's probably what we're going to wind up doing.. And I guess screening new vendors more closely.

only problem with this is the new housing placements. you may not beable to get the structure in the same spot. so take that into consideration also
